My adorable 16 month old grandaughter needs to be on a lactose free diet for a week.
I could use some lunch ideas for her since I watch her full time while her parents work.
Her favorite lunches are mac & cheese, grilled cheese, yogurt, etc. With these out i could
use ideas. She does like spaghetti and chicken noodle soup, but I'd like other suggestions too.

What can I do next?

are you sure she can't eat yogurt. I can't do milk or cheese, but I can do yogurt. Look into NON-GMO soy products. I could recommend soy shakes if you like, but how about turkey, peanut butter and jelly (not too much peanut butter as it is hard to swallow), scrambled eggs and burritos.

My 2nd grandson has a allergy to cow milk so everything regular dairy is out for him. If you live by Trader Joes they have some really good soy cheese that melts like normal cheese. Crispix cereal, rice crispies have no dairy. Make sure you read labels because milk and dairy show up in a lot of food that you wouldn't think would contain milk.

You can try soy yogurt. It tastes really good and I add coconut milk to it with oatmeal and some extra pureed fruit. My sons really likes it. You can also put marinara sauce on her pasta and cook any meat for her. My son really liked pan fried chicken in butter.

You could buy some veggie cheese (it vegan so no dairy). It actually tastes pretty good. We buy the single wrapped and make grilled cheese all the time. Check bread for milk!

Bits of chicken with rice or chicken and rice soup (thats always easy to feed them)
Cooked veggies are easy when you mash them with the fork before you give it to them, beans...think protein and veggies, some carbs.

Our family rarely uses dairy or meat. But for a 16 month old you should be able to just give her whatever you are eating unless it has dairy in it. So long as it is small pieces and not something she might choke on. Try cooked vegetables, canned olives, pasta with marinara sauce, non-creamy soups. Bread. Have fun!

Good quality yogurts are lactose free - the probiotics feed on the lactose. Hard cheeses (cheddar, colby jack, parmesan) are also lactose free as the whey containing lactose is removed during the cheese-making process. Stay away from soft cheeses and man-made ones, though (mozzerella, american, etc.). My daughter is lactose intolerant. It takes some getting used to, but you'll get the hang of it.
