Legoland Park

L. - Christopher - a family friend is here - he is 13 now. He enjoyed it. Almost EVERYTHING is made of LEGOs...there's lots to do for everyone. they went to LEGO California.

We took our oldest when she was around 5. We were not impressed, it seemed overpriced and kind of boring. Now, if you have kids that are really into legos then I could see it being fun. Little boys seemed to be more into them and might enjoy it more.
It seems like in both CA and FL there are so many other great family activities this was not top of our list.

We took our girls there (California) last year and we all LOVED it. They were 2 and 5 1/2 at the time. Its clean, food is decent and not overpriced like Disney, rides/activities are geared towards little kids vs. teenagers. Roller coasters were fun for my older daughter but not crazy scary - perfect for her. My kids loved it and we did too. If your kids are anywhere between the ages of 1 to 12, they'll like it. Also, they do have the water park so come prepared for that as well but its not a must. We're definitely going to go back at some point!

We took our son a few years ago when he was 6. He loved it! He is a lego freak and loved all the lego creations around the park. It is geared for the 4 - 7 yr old range.

I was not so impressed. I think Disneyland has so much more to offer, but just my opinion.

I shopped around online and got a buy one, get one free coupon. I think I got it on ebay for a few dollars. It saved us $$$.

There is a water park in Legoland too. Luckily someone told me and we brought a swimsuit and a towel. It was a chilly day and my son was pretty cold after playing in the water. Bring some warm clothes if the weather is not hot.

We've taken our boys to the California one 2-3 times and we love it. It's true the rides aren't like Six Flags or Disney, but that's part of what we enjoyed about it. Someone just asked about the CA one a few days ago so you can probably readily find those responses in the previous questions on this site.

We've gone to Legoland in California a few times, not with children but with dogs (Legoland is a big supporter of Canine Companions for Independence). It seems like fun. My impression, walking around, is that it's generally designed for younger children. However, I've heard that they're working on more interesting things for the older children, too. To me, Legoland's best feature is the miniature assortment of world attractions, actually built with Legos and set in a little river (that you ride a boat in). Very clever!

It is for ages 2-12 and kids who like wild rides will be bored.
I think it is so much easier to get around.
In Florida, it is an hour from Orlando, not by Disney.

We went last year to the one in CA when our kids were eight and five. We had a really fun day there. It's definitely geared for younger kids. The size was perfect and we appreciated all of the bathrooms & variety of dining options compared to Disneyland.

We went to the aquarium first and were surprised how much the kids liked it. It isn't huge, but was a fun start to the day. Finished that in about an hour or so. They thought it was fun to see the Lego creations inside the tanks.

We were there in June and it was cool that day. Apparently, the weather there doesn't usually warm up until July. The fact that it was cool meant it wasn't extremely crowded, so there weren't very long waits for the rides.

If you go to the one in CA, there's a great restaurant near the roller coaster in the back. It offers a kids buffet with things like burgers, grilled cheese, fruit, fries, etc. Brilliant idea. All of the kinds of things kids like and they get to choose. The food for adults was pretty good for amusement park fare, too.
