I live off of second street and I want to start takeing my daughter to church but I dont drive and my husband isnt exactly excited about the church idea. I was wondering if there would be anyone willing to pick up me and my daughter on their way to the life church off of 2nd st. sunday mornings? My husband would pick me up afterwards.
Thank you everyone for your support and I thought that you all should know my husband is now taking me and my daughters to church every Sunday ON HIS OWN! I cant believe it God must have helped him see something I couldnt. Once he noticed that I was going to go to church with or without him he offered. :) Thanks again for your advice and prayers.

I can help. Have you made it to Life yet? It's an amazing place of worship. My family and I have attended for over six years. Are you wanting to go to the location at 2nd and I 35?
V., I am glad you have found a church that supports you and where you feel comfortable. I am betting someone at the church coordinates transportation for people who need rides. We at Unity of Fayetteville do that, and we're a small church.
But, my real concern is that you don't drive. If there's not a medical or legal reason, you would do yourself a favor by learning and getting your driver's license. This is a skill every woman should have, and if a husband objects, it's a control issue. He wants to control his wife's life. That's a sad situation to be in. So, if you're not legally blind or your license isn't suspended, go to church, get to know some people and see if someone will teach you to drive. If you have a great relationship with your husband, you can tell him it's easier to have a nonfamily member teach driving. I didn't drive at 20, and it hampered me plenty. So that's where I'm coming from.
We go to Lifechurch on N Penn and Nw 178th (is this 2nd street) North OKC/Edmond.
We attend the 8:30am service and have for years! My daughter is almost three and she LOVES it! Getting her involved in a fun church environment is one of the best things you can do for her!
Where do you live? I could come by and get you if this is not to early for you around
8:10-8:15. My husband volunteers at the 10:00am service so we take separate cars, so this would work out. I could have my husband take our daughter and if you wanted your daughter could use my car seat!

Where do you live? What Church is it? Even if someone from the church was on this board who would know. Can you give a name of the Church only that way if any one from there is on here they can help. I agree with others if there is not then call the church you are wanting to attend and they can probably help you.
My family and I attend the OKC campus on Saturday nights, and I know when I have needed a ride in the past, I called the church. Either someone there can give you a ride or put you contact with another church member that lives near you. Hope this works out. My kids really enjoy it and I'm sure your daughter would love it too.
It's very dangerous to ask anonymous strangers for rides, even to church, especially with your child involved. Most churches have outreach programs that will be more than happy to pick you both up and even bring you home if necessary. Try calling the church to see if they have such a program; if not, most likely they have a church member who would be willing to come pick you up. I hope you and your daughter have a great experience at church.
I am not sure where the life church is located. Where do you live? I attend Living Water Baptist Church in Little Rock. If you are interested in attending another church besides the life church let me know.
What town it it that you live in.. Hartselle? Decatur? I go to church in Decatur... My husband is the worship leader and I play keyboard in the worship band at Oak Park Baptist Church, in Decatur.. I was just curious what town you were talking about.. I would love to help.

Hi V.. Unfortunately, I live in Yukon, which is nowhere near Edmond. I attend the NW OKC LifeChurch campus off of NW Expressway and MacArthur. I just wanted to tell you that it is a great church. I have been attending regularly for about 2 1/2 years now. I think that you will love it there. The LifeKids ministry is awesome, too. They will take good care of Ellie. Maybe you can convince your husband to attend once he knows that he can wear jeans, as it is completely casual. The music is absolutely awesome, too. It's very modern with electric guitars and such.
Call the church. Most would be very happy to get you in contact with a currentmember that would be willing to get you weekly. If they are not glad to help you, you need to look for a different church.

I go to the NW Expressway Campus. I know someone will come and get you if you get a hold of them. My husband works alot out of town and he watches it live online. If your husband wants to be a FLY on the wall, he can do that. I will be praying for you. God Bless!!!

I am out every Sunday morning anyway picking up those for our services and I would be honored to take you to your services. Have you tried asking at your church? A number of churches in Altus will help out their congregation with transportation.
Which city do you live in? Is life church the most convenient or would you be willing to attend other churches? Let me know-

I am not in your town, but my husband is a pastor. If you will call the church during their office hours this week, most churches can arrange for someone to pick you up, and are happy to do so! You can be very proud of yourself for making the effort to raise your daughter in church. It is amazing how wonderful a church family can be, and I hope you love your church family as much as we do ours!
I would love but I do not have a car. Can you call the church and found out of the church has a van or bus they use for this. A lot of churches too.

I think it is wonderful that you want to take your child to church. You say your husband is not crazy about the idea. Don't let his apprehension stop you. Find a way to get to church, learn the word of God and allow it to become a reality in your life. Learn how to pray for your husband and be the help meet that God wants you to be. You and your daughter can win him to the Lord through the changes he see in your lives.
