I worked in nursing homes for many years and I can tell you being a nursing assistant is a tough job! You are the primary hands-on caregiver. That means you are bathing, wiping, cleaning up bowel or bladder accidents, helping with basic activities of daily living(hair, teeth, dressing, etc). You are also responsible for making sure that you handle all these tasks in a very professional and dignified manner to ensure that your patient or the resident in the nursing home feels cared for and wholly respected.
