Oaks Jewelers on Solano just west of Colusa (a few stores down from Starbucks) is excellent. They are fantastic there.
I am in need of a local jewelry repair shop to tighten a stone on my wedding ring. I am looking for a place who does the repairs in house as apposed to sending it out for repair. I am leaving on vacation with my husband and would like it repaired before I leave in 2 weeks. I live in Albany and do not want to travel far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ladies!
I took my ring to Oaks Jewelers in Albany and they fixed it the same day at a very reasonable price. I now have my wedding ring repaired and will have it when I leave on vacation. I would recommend them if anyone asked for recommendations. Thanks for the wonderful advice ladies!!

I highly recommend Oaks Jewelers on Solano across from Wells Fargo. They're family owned & run (w/the addition of 2 non-family employees) & have close to 50 yrs. experience. Everybody is so nice & extremely helpful. I've been using them for about 17 yrs & have always been pleased w/their service & products. And, yes, they do in-house repairs themselves.
Not sure where you are, there is a jewlery/coin shop in Buskirk in Pleasant Hill, they reset my diamond and platnium band and did a great job, reasonably priced.

As Kelly and Andrea say, Oaks Jewellers on Solano is the place to go if you live in Albany or Berkeley!

Try the nice folks next to Trader Joe's in the EC Plaza. There's a sushi place on the corner, a dry cleaner, the jeweler, and TJ's.
Good luck.

Spitz Jewelers in Walnut Creek are great!
J., my husband's family has been using Greg (website below) for a LONG time (everyone from his grandmother down to us currently). He does excellent work (all on site) but can be a bit pricey....if you go feel free to tell him I sent you (message me on here privately and I'll give you my full name :)). He has stores in Pleasant Hill and San Ramon...not next door to you but it's worth it to get a good job on an important piece of jewelry.
