I just moved to the Plano area about a week ago and would love to meet some moms around my age, (24) that would like a friend! I have friends that live in the area but none of them have children so its been hard for me. I have a very special 9 month old little boy and would love to make some frinds that we could go to the park with or lunch- anything! I am new to mammasource and have enjoyed every minute that I ahve been here so far. Its so refreshing to have mommie talk time with someone other than my mother!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I just wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful responses! They have all been a lot of help. I have joined some groups on meetup and have a very busy couple of weekends coming my way! Thanks again for all the support- what a strong group of mammas there are on here!

I have a playgroup in the area. Most of our mommies are in their 20's or early 30's. I am just a few years older than you - I'm 29. I have a 3 1/2 year old son and a 17 month old son. Would love to get with you and/or have you join us at playgroup. Email me for more info - ____@____.com.

**I live in McKinney but spend a lot of time in Plano (my parents live there). **

There are several groups on www.meetup.com that might work for you. Also, if you are in far west Plano by any chance, you might be interested in the north Carrollton group I am a part of. We mostly live a couple of miles from the border of Plano. Message me if you are interested in that. Welcome to the area.

Check into the First Baptist Church or First Methodist Church of Plano. They generally have a good group of young mothers.

Hey C.~

My name is B. and I live in the Frisco area and actually work in Plano. It sounds like I am in the same boat as you. I am 27 with a 15 month old little girl named Addison and a lab named Roxy. I am one of the few out of all of my girlfriends that have a baby and me and Addison are always looking to meet new people. If you ever want to get together for a playdate just let me know. Have a great week!!

C.,

I can feel for you. I had my first when I was 21 and needless to say, none of my friends had any kids yet. So, you might want to just find some other moms and the more you look, the more you will find in your age range or at least with your interests. What I found is that I became friends with more women in their late 20's and early 30's and most of them I still talk to regularly b/c of our similarities. I'm 32 now and most of my friends are in their late 30's or early 40's. NOW my friends from college are starting to have babies and i'm the resident "expert."

Call if you want to meet up.

M.

Good morning! There is a class my church holds for new moms and there babies, called Square One. It's a fantastic way to meet new moms that are close to your age. A lot of times the mommies in the group end up hanging out continuously... meeting at the park, going on walks, etc, Here is the resource...
