I also have an overactive thyroid (Graves Disease - currently in remission). I see Dr. Henry Prost in Grapevine. I really like him. My OBGyn refers all of her patients to him. I think he is great. I have seen him for 5 years now.
Hello, Does anyone know of a good doctor who specializes in thryoid disorders. Thanks K.

Dr. Darren Lackan is AWESOME!!! He is very attentive and understanding. He was the first doctor to take my problems seriously and do the necessary testing to find out what was wrong with me. Highly recommended!

Typically endocrinologist are not the best to treat overactive thyroid unless there is a concern about cancer or need to remove thyroid or nodules.
There's an excellent Texas thyroid Yahoo group:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Texas_Thyroid_Groups/
Just include in your request to join that "M. B" sent you. The group is moderated so that folks feel comfortable sharing more private health related information and not be concerned about it leaving the group. As well, this avoids any commercial postings and the group is strict about off-list contact.
They have lists of lots of doctors that have treated a good number of patients in the group - there's 700+ members, so literally hundreds of years of knowledge in dealing with these problem.
The Fem Centre www.femcentre.com They are in central Fort Worth. They deal with all types of hormone deficiencies as well. Good luck.
Not sure where you live but I use Dr. Chris Bajaj and he is wonderful. I had seen another doctor for years and was not diagnosed and Dr.Bajaj caught my condition on the first visit.Great office staff as well!

My husband has hashimoto's and I have hypothyriod.. We were recommended by a biodentical pharmacist to see Dr Sullivan as he's 'the one' in this area... Los Colinas.
Mike Sullivan’s info:- www.tienahealth.com/usingtheoffice/contactus.asp
Two things I liked about Mike were:- he doesn't behave as through thyriod issues were complicated.. & he takes into account your hormones which for both my husband and I have made a HUGE difference.
If you don't have any joy with any that have been mentioned I also have one more but he is very alternative in his thinking.
