I live in the Abilene area and we are trying for our second child...I am ready to meet with OBGYNS...however i do not want to have to go and visit with an entire hospital before I make up my mind..if anyone could give me a review of the DOCs here in town that would be amazing...was not happy with the one i had with my first child.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all so very much...I have heard excellent things about all these Docs...i guess there will be good and bad with all of them...my first child was born by ceserean and im not even sure it was really needed...not saying it wasnt, but there was definate reason to think otherwise...besides my past OB i saw maybe four times and one of those was for delivery, the rest of the time was the NP...im thinking Ward or Cass..and I have a friend who had mentioned Anderson...I know more than likely i will be at ARMC since all my doctors are in that area....Thank you all so very much!!!

I myself though Dr. Masscouro was nice, but I ended up waiting in her waiting from for over 3 hours for the first visit with her, and she wasn't even delieverying a baby that day. When I did get to see her, I was with her for like 15 mins... that all included ultrasound, exam and a medicial history. I was high risk.

I ended up switching to Dr. Ogdee. The longest I ever waited on him was 15 mins. He's got a great bedside manner, jokes, and talks to you like a person. He's got a good flow through his office and he doesn't try to put unnecessary tests on you. He's VERY easy to talk too and he takes the time to answer all your questions. I wish I had, had me twins with him. He was great with my now 5 month old.

Good luck

I used doc Thompson. and I LOVED him. I have talked to others who really don't like him, but then others that really love him as much as I have.
He has his own office, but he shares call with Doctors Cass and Ward.
I also really liked doc Ward, he was in on my C-section and on the weekend I was released from the hospital.
So any of the 3 of them would be a good choice, I never met Doc Cass, but he was the one on a couple of times when I went to the L&D. any of them would be a good choice.

I highly recommend Dr. Tadvick, Dr. Kroeger or Dr. Mascorro! They are with "Women's Health Professionals of Abilene" 1210 N. 18th Street, Abilene. ###-###-####. I used Dr. Tadvick with my daughter 3 years ago and I can't wait for him to be involved with my next pregnancy. I am a nurse at Hendricks, so I have seen them in action!
Hope this helps!
Good luck!

I go to Richard Stanley and like him. He's accepting/accommodating of my desire to do things naturally (intermittent monitoring, stripped my membranes, funky birthing positions, etc). He's nice and fatherly.

My friend goes to Dr. Cass and she loves him. I've been very impressed with him. He's caring and funny. If I were to start over again, I'd probably try Dr. Cass first.

Both are at Regional.

I was not happy with my first OBGYN either. Thankfully, she wasnt on call when my son was born. The Dr. that delivered him was AWESOME! His name is Dr. Robert Ogdee, and he is fairly new to the area, but has lots of experience. He also takes plenty of time to ask and answer any questions. I am so glad I found him now that we are also trying for our second :)

I too was in your position. We had just moved to town and I was searching. I just opened the phone book and called one. I called Whitney Mascarro. She is great. I felt like she was very professional, and yet compassionate. I would highly recommend her. I have also heard really good things about Dr. Tadvick (Sp?) Who is also in practice with her.

Hope this helps
