I'm sure any children's hospital would love them! Also a women's shelter would be another great place to donate them!! hope that helps!
I was hoping someone would know someplace that would accept new and gently used stuffed animals. My home has been overrun with these and the local Goodwill will not accept them. I hate to throw them out because they are in really good condition and I know there are children who would enjoy them. I am in Connecticut.

I live in CT and have given stuffed animals to Good Will. Another suggestion is to call a church in your area to see if they have contacts. My parish connected me with a nun in the Bridgeport area who works with young mothers and I was able to provide them with lots of books, toys, etc that my children have outgrown.
Good luck!
I don't know if they accept gently used ones (I know they have a closet of new ones for incoming kids), but I would suggest checking with Kids in Crisis. They're based in Greenwich and a really fabulous group. You could also check with DVCC (Domestic Violence Crisis Center), which is based in Norwalk. If those two don't accept, I would imagine they know who might.
Good for you for trying to bring some joy to kids who have less. Please post your results!
There is a great organization called SAFE (Stuffed Animals for Emergencies). Here is their link: http://www.stuffedanimalsforemergencies.org/chapters.htm

Hi K. - I have donated mine to the Bridgeport Shelter. You may wish to try there or even inquire with some local daycares . . .
Sometimes local fire/ambulance/police stations will collect stuffed animals to hand out to children they meet in unfortunate circumstances. Also, some DCF (Dept. Children and Families) also collect them. Good luck!
If they are in almost new condition you can contact the police or fire department. I know some of them keep stuffed animals to give to children in stressful situations.
