Looking for an A+ Steakhouse for a Holiday Dinner

The last 2 times I went to Ruth's Chris, it was aweful. It is pricey and I expect perfection for those prices. My steak was thin and way over cooked, and there was sooo much butter on top. It was just bad and the staff was equal to the quality of the food. Been to Sullivan's in Naperville a few times. Steak was awesome and so was the service. Great wine selection, and cozy atmosphere. I don't know what you want to spend, but it is pricey. Also, LOVE MORTON'S! Also pricey and downtown.

I would say Ruth's Chris but if you do not want to travel that far Al's Steakhouse is good in Joilet

Hello! There is a place in Joliet on the corner of Raynor and Jefferson called "Truth" It is excellent. They have a private room you can reserve, it is moderately priced and they food is wonderful. I would stay away from Als, only because it has a rep in town as "God's waiting room" It is SOOOO dark and dreary and the last time we were there, the food wasn't that good. Also, Texas Roadhouse, in my opinion is like a fast food place to get a steak. Good luck with your search!

Ruth's Chris Steak House....Northbrook and Downtown Chicago locations. Check them out online. Best steak I have ever had.

I know you prefer berbs.. but I was just at Gibsons downtown and they have a great room that fits up to about 16 people and their steak is awesome.. they also have one by ohare. I am not sure where you live.. but they are very good. and the room downtown is great and private and you can actually hear.. I know they have packages for dinner and you can choose your meals and they will even do a menu for you..

Yes, the Wild Fire has AWESOME food too!! I have been there several times!

I agree about staying away from AL's Steakhouse. I have been there a couple of times and the food was terrible each time! I only went there due to other people telling me it was good!

Hi Mom of Two just to let you know, I asked my husband where he would go for a really good steak around your area (since I don't know much about your area. He LOVES Wildfire. They have a location at Oak Brook mall.

I would say Wildfire. Theyhave a few locations (Oakbrook, Chicago and I think Schaumburg. I love that place!

We love steak and have tried all of the greats but we find the best is actually Capital Grill...there's a downtown location but I know they just opened one in the western burbs too!

You have to go to Texas Roadhouse! They just built one on about 190th and Lagrange. It is the best! I actually went to the one in Texas when my husband was in the military and stationed there, we were estatic to find they had put one here when he returned home. Truly is the best.

There is also Bogarts in Tinley Park, they are really good too, but a little pricy. But it is more fancy, there is a dress code. They put enough food on one plate to feed 4!
