I want to get a picture of my son for his first year and one with the family. I want a picture that captures my son's spirit and makes us look great too! Where is the best place in Alexandria/Springfield?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your responses. I finally got my son's pictures a couple months ago at JCPenney's and they turned out really well! I may try another place next year just to compare. Thanks again!

I just recently took my daughter for her 1st b-day pictures at Portrait Innovations in Fredricksburg. I live in Woodbridge, but it was worth the drive to Fred. They are awesome and cheap. The room is huge and the backgrounds actually come on the ground so they capture pictures as your baby crawls, sits, stands, whatever. And then you go to a HUGE computer screen to where you sit down and the worker helps you pick out packages, poses, and the pics are digital you get them back in about 1/2 hr and you get a cd with all the pics on it.
They spent a good amount of time with her, I made an appt. And my fav thing was the huge room they take the pics in. They dont have you set your baby on this table t where you have to worry about them falling off, they were great and totally worth the drive!
And their prices are very very good. I would recommend gong on a Sunday afternoon or during the week. Saturdays are realy busy according to the people there. :) Hope this helps!
they have a website: www.portraitinnovations.com/

I usually take my kids to the picture people. The pictures are very kid-friendly, and they take alot of time trying to get a good picture. The pictures are all unique and whatever pose you want to try, they will do. I also like Sears, they have also done well with the kids too. They have alot of different backgrounds and ideas now too.

We always had luck at the photo studio at JCPenney in Springfield Mall. Photos came out really well done, choice of backgrounds, reasonable prices and packages.

Hi there,
There is this excellent photographer in the Dale City/Woodbridge area. He does this sort of on the side. He will come to you as well (for a bit more). He has a studio in his basement. He spends a lot of time with each baby! He is pricey, but the best there is out there! At 4 months, my daughter was teething and fussy...you would never guess it from her photographs! He spent 2 hours with her that day! We was very patient and stopped for snacks, diaper changes, etc. Go to www.firstportraits.com She is actually the baby that pops up on the webpage. His name is Kevin Davis. Hope this helps!

We used to go to JC Penny's for the first two years of our daughter's life. Not anymore. We started going to Portrait Innovations in Fair Lakes near Fair Oaks Mall. It's before you get to Hernndon. www.portraitinnovations.com ###-###-####. They are closed Mondays. Definately go there from now on... My hubby is hard to impress and he liked them better than Picture People and JC Pennys, Sears Portrait Studio and Target Portrait Studio. No sitting fees and they always have their $9.95 photo special for one pose. They always take at least 50 different poses and you can do outfit changes for your little ones. Even for our Christmas Photos we were not rushed at all. And if you buy a three pose minimum you get a free photo cd. The best thing is that there is the photographer, than an extra person witht the toys to make your children smile, so you get two people working with you. Try them!
Also my friend owns her own home based business that she'll come to your home for the day and take "artsy" black and white photos. But the catch is its of the children only. She does have props and sepia coloring. Actually I think they just added color to the packages now too. Or you can host a "photo" party at your home and get a family portrait plus money off etc. www.cookseykeepsakes.com My friends Name is Kathy Mosier ____@____.com
