My 1 year old boy needs glasses and we are looking for places in the Denver area that have experience making glasses for babies and toddlers. Any suggestions would be great!

So What Happened?

So far, I've received a lot of recommendations for Highland Family Optical which is funny because we went to the eye Dr. everyone also recommended that is in the same building (Children's Eye Physicians). I was just really bummed out by the limited selection color-wise (for the kind of lenses he needs we have a choice of red or purple basically) but I guess a good fit is more important than fashion at this age! I'm sure selections for such tiny glasses are limited everywhere! Thanks for all the input. I'm looking forward to seeing my son's reaction when he can actually see the world!
2/20/08 HAs had the glasses for about a month - doing great, looking cute. They break a lot but local places are always willing to adjust them for us. Great warranty at Highland - we already have a new pair of lenses on the way. It is true, nobody else is Denver has glasses this small except for the big chunky plastic ones we refuse to buy!

Hi K. - My kids both have glasses. My youngest got them when he was 2.5 and has a petite face. We went to Children's Eye Physicians (Dr. Steele) to get the perscription - - but went to Costco for the glasses. They were very cost effective and allowed us to get two pairs. (I highly recommend two pairs - so you have an extra when they break or get lost). They also have a free replacement policy on all kids frames. (we replaced 3 pairs in 1.5yrs!) If Costco doesn't have enough selection - - you can try Children's Eye Physician's optical centers. http://cepcolorado.com/optical.htm
They are expensive - but would be able to meet the needs of any age child. Hope that helps!

Have you tried Highland Family Optical? It is next to Children's Eye Physicians at their Mineral location. They are specialized in all ages of kids glasses and have a great selection.

Here is a link for the optical shop which also lists the Ward location (I've never seen that one) http://cepcolorado.com/optical.htm
I can also recommend Dr. Anna Steele at Children's Eye Physicians.

Optical Masters on Leetsdale and Monoco. They are really good there and very fast. Good luck!

Try this link to Children's Eye Physicians, a pediatric ophthamologist. Right next door is an optical shop at their Mineral Ave office with a wide array of frames for children and an optician experienced in fitting children of all ages. They also have a shop off of Ward Rd.

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences going here for our son and his vision problems.

Best wishes.
