My daughter had a thick and wide foot! I couldn't even get her in a pair of shoes at Dillards! I had to go to stride right and buy her shoes! They are great and good resale! 20-30 dollar shoes
My son has wide and thick feet. I found some shoes that fit him and he quickly grew out of them, I went back to the store and they don't sell them anymore. They said maybe at the start of the school year. Anyway, if anyone has any Payless Toddler Boy Tennis shoes, they zip up in 7W or bigger, please let me know. I am also going to check the resale shops. I have tried sooooo many other places and it is hard to find shoes for him. I just wish I would of bought a few more in bigger sizes. Thanks for any help!!

My son also has wide feet. He wears a 7.5 Xtra wide. Have you tried Stride Rite? They have a big selection there.
Nordstroms has a great variety of shoes for wide footed kids. My son has wide feet too. They can be a little pricey but if you buy them a full size bigger, they last longer.
Hi Tara,
My son also has extremely wide feet. We tease that we need to buy shoe boxes to fit his feet. None the less, I typically have to go to Nordstrom to purchase shoes for him. They sell the wide and measure to make sure he will be fitted correctly. Unfortunatley, it costs more, but I find it is worth the expense to fit his feet comfortably. Hope this helps!

Both my son's have wide or x-wide feet. Stride Rite is the only store that I found that carries them as part of their regular stock. They are having a buy one get one 1/2 off sale right now. I know they are expensive, but if you get on their mailing list they have regular sales.
Good luck!!
Hi Tara,
My son wears a 9 1/2 xx Wide, so I feel your pain. Payless only carries the XW and so I have to usually go up 1 size to get them to fit him. And usually the shoes they do have are ugly!! I usually have 2 pairs of knock-around type of shoes and then I have to break-down and buy them from Stride Rite. They are expensive, but I have to purchase them because I need them. I have a pair of tennis shoes, 1 pair of casual, 1 pair of sandals and 1 black pair of Sunday type of shoes from there! Like I said, I do have some knock-around type shoes that I get from Payless or sometimes, surprisingly, Wal-Mart will have an occassional XW or XXW. Not too often, but I look just the same. Also try out consignment places, but I haven't had any luck there too often. Cute as a Button, Kid to Kid, Once upon A Child and Baby & Beyound. I will look in my "baby stuff" that Matthew now longer wears and see if I have anything in that size. Drop me an email at ____@____.com so I can let you know.
Good Luck,
G. B.
Try Ebay. Also, big garage sale with North Dallas Mothers of Twins is happening april 1st at 8:30 at Richardson Civic Center. You might get lucky there.

Go to payless.com. You can order shoes online & have them direct shipped to a store near you (for free I believe). You can order wides too. That is probably your best bet if you don't want to pay more. My daughter also has wide feet & I usually go to Stride Rite or Nordstroms (at Stonebriar) because they have a good selection of wide shoes. Fortunately my daughter's feet don't grow to fast so I don't mind paying more for her shoes (within reason). New Balance also comes in wide widths & hold up pretty well. I have been dealing with this for my daughter since her 1st pair of shoes & she is now 3 so I have tried it all. Good luck!

Stride Rite is really pricey, but I have found that they have more shoes for wide and thick feet than anyone else. My son has extra wide feet that are also thick, so we have a similar problem.
