Looking for the Perfect Jeans!

I am in need of the perfect pair of jeans! I have had my 3rd baby and nothing in my closet is fitting right. And most of the jeans out there are not made for the mom body (at least not mine)! They all seem to be so low that I loose them and have the muffin top hanging over... I have done Gap most of my life and think I need something different. I am ready to make the investment in the killer jeans that look great and make you feel even better. I find that being a SAHM, jeans are what I wear the most so I should spend the most on them instead of some crazy dress I never wear.
I just am at a loss where to go, what to buy!
So, what are your favorite jeans? Any help is appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thaks everyone! So, I tried Hot Mama in MAple Grove and fell in love with a pair of David Kahn jeans. They look hot, if I do say :) The were spendy , but an investment. I will try Lucky next, I have heard great things about them also! I honestly feel like a new person, its a miracle to feel good in your jeans again.

Janna totally knows what she is talking about. The only thing I would add is that Joes's Jeans has a new style called "The Muse" that has a slightly higher rise (especially in back) that is very flattering for us stylish moms. I got mine at Nordstrom for about $150. It's expensive, but just wear them every day if you need to!

Didn't Oprah do a "jean" intervention? I wonder if you could look it up on her site to see what their recommendations were. I have everything from a $20 pair of Mossimo's from Target to a $98 of CAbi jeans and I don't see a difference. You are right -- it's all about fit. Here in Maple Grove, we have a store called Hot Mama. You might find some inspiration there to get your groove back :)!

What A great QUESTION! And thanks to all those who sent advice, I checked out zafu.com, really great. I have been asking the same question but never on here.
After my twins were born I had serious done-lap over the top of my jeans and the low rise fashion is EVIL and Target, where I usually buy my jeans only had low rise although I have noticed now that they are starting to carry Levi's in "just below the waist" styles but I also did not want boot cut and I have a long torso and shorter legs so I needed to be able to have a choice of lengths as well. So I checked the Gap and found what I needed: just below the waist and short length and I love them although for some reason had to go up a size (I am usually an 8 but had to buy 10's :( ) but I like them. I am going to check out Lucky and splurge on some more expensive jeans but you should try GAP again, just look for a higher rise. I have also checked Old Navy, Aero, Levi outlet, Guess and The Limited and none of them had a mid-rise jean so don't waste your time at those places either.
You are so right, the jean market is most definitly not geared to post-baby women and its an outrage, especially Target b.c we all know who the main shoppers are at Target...women with small kids.

Hi,

I saw Sarah Jessica Parker on Oprah the other day. She was promoting her new clothing line which will be at Steve & Barry's as of June 7. She said something during the show about not liking the low-waisted jeans, so there should be some higher waist stuff in there. Sizes go up to size 20, I think. And, everything was $20.00 or less.

I sound like a commercial.

I have the exact same problem you do, and can't wait for this low rising fashion to go out. It's like that's the only jeans out there the low waisted risers and I don't feel like having my butt crack show either. LOL The only thing that works somewhat for me is Levi's jeans from Target. They have been working the best but still not perfect.

I have referred most of my girlfriends who had a difficult time finding jeans that fit well to Lucky Jeans at the Mall of America. The staff can be quite helpful. Just let them know what you want in a pair of jeans and they will bring several pairs to your changing room to try. Lucky Jeans sell for about $100. True Religions can be very flattering, but I would recommend visiting one of their independent shops in another city, rather than buying them here because there just isn't the selection one needs. True Religion jeans sell for about $200. Len Druskin in the Galleria Edina has a large selection of jeans, too. Every time my sister in law visits, we find new jeans for her at Len Druskin. I wore Lucky jeans after my first pregnancy because I did notice a difference between the cheap jeans and the more expensive ones. I went on a three day jean search and tried on everything out there. Good luck.
