You can go to www.montessori.com they provide lots of info on the philosophy of montessori schools. You can also call local schools and they will talk with you and let you observe their classes.
I am trying to find more info on Montessori schools.

Do NOT go to ABC Montessori. I have been VERY displeased with them. My daughter has learned well, but the facility isn't very clean, she has come home with dried poop all over her butt from no one checking her (she just turned 4), and one of her playmates has pin worms from the sand box. They don't seem to wash well after playing. The owners are a bit odd, as well. Issues are never dealt with accordingly and parents sometimes feel patronized by their response.
When I was looking for private school, home schools and charter schools in Georgia I went to the internet and typed in charter schools, etc. A wealth of schools including montessori schools in all areas popped up. There was also legislative info regarding the licensing of such facility and the issue of providing vouchers for Georgia citizens to place the children in private schools according to the allocation per child and tax dollars.
Hi E., there is a private school in Milner, probably about 20 minutes from Locust Grove, called St. George's Episcopal School. I have applied for my 4 year old to go to Pre-k there in the fall. We have toured it and found they follow the Montessori style of teaching. I was very impressed. They have chapel and Christian teaching, however they don't really impose the epsicopal beliefs. It's more general. You might want to check it out. www.sges.org As of now, my child goes to daycare in Locust Grove.
