Another alternative is a loft bed above the double or a dresser or something else in the room. You can put your older one on the loft and your little one in the double.
I am looking for the best priced place to buy my little guy and daughter a twin mattress only. We made a life bed frame for my son that he only needs a mattresses for. My daughter we are looking to take her out of the crib and will be making
her a trumble bed that will go under me older daughters full size bed. I was not thinking when we bought my oldest her full size bedroom set that what happens if we have another girl...silly us. But I know when I was younger u would of liked a trumble bed. It will most likely never be put under bed. I like a nice pillow top bed, something you'd like to sleep on. Any suggestions? Do you think we will have problems in future with trumble bed? I guess we could always sell the full size set and get single or bunkbeds...
The trumbel bed would stay floor level and in their room there is room to leave it out (and look nice) all the time. Space wise it would take up almost as much space as her crib. She is 20 months old so floor level would be much saver!! Thank you for all input and ideas!!!

I have bought three mattresses at Mattress-To-Go in Shelby Twp. The man that runs it is really nice and won't try to sell you anything you don't want. Call there -- definitely the lowest price I've found around. You have to transport the mattress yourself (they don't deliver), but he will tie it on top of your van/car for you.
I wouldn't put a trundle bed under a full size bed...if you're never going to store it under the bed, it's going to be bigger than a king, and what's the point of a trundle if not to store it away?
I guess I'd go for two singles or a bunk bed. We're currently shopping for bunks. :) Two girls...almost seven, and 20 months.
Growing up, my sisters shared a room and they had a twin with a trundle bed underneath (daybed style) and it was great! They loved it and it allowed them to have separate beds, but a good sized play space during the day.
Just a suggestion... the double bed with a trundle will take up a lot of space! If your older daughter isn't going to freak out, I would get rid of the double and opt for a twin with a trundle or two twins.
Not sure what your price point is, but look for ads in the paper around President's Day. There are usually HUGE furniture sales around that time!
