S.S.
My son has a blanket that he's had since he was born. It's still in great shape but I have a feeling he'll take this woobie to college with him.

So despite having multiple soft lovable stuffed animals, my son prefers to carry around plastic rings. You know, the links that you can attach toys to and hang off activity mats and such. He loves them and literally almost always has one clutched in his little fist. Last night, my aunt was babysitting so my hubby, parents and inlaws could attend my college graduation (yay!) and when we picked him up he was sound asleep, still holding on tight to his little ring, he didn't let go the whole hour long ride home until we took it away to put him in bed. He will hide them under the couch cushions, pillows, blankets, the soft cuddly toys I try to get him to like, we find them everywhere. What toys do your little ones like that surprised you?

My daughter's lovey changes everytime my sister buys her a new toy. However, I think it's odd that the things she gets most connected to come from my sister, whether it's a toy or a book, my daughter loves them and always has to have them around. My sister doesn't have a lot of money and most of the things she gets for my daughter come from the dollar section at Target, but my daughter loves them.
My two year old has 2 pillowcases she carries around everywhere. She can't have just one, it must be the two and they are not a set they are completely different. But she loves them.
That's cute haha. My son has Tigger. Tigger goes everywhere, and my son MUST hold him by his tail.
It's not a toy, but a washcloth! She sleeps with it just like it was a real blanket!
My son stole three of my fake silkish shirts and carried them EVERYWHERE his favorite was bright fushia and black damask print!
My two-year-old daughter is obsessed with frogs. Her lovey is a big stuffed frog who accompanies her everywhere. He wore a diaper for a while and has to "get dressed" with her in the morning. Froggy has to do everything she does. It's endearing but I fear leaving him in a store or park!
None of my kids have ever had anything that they got totally attached to...until this last one! And it's a carebear that's like...twice his size!! He can barely fit his arms around he thing! Drives me absolutely batty sometimes. If I can manage to sneak it away and toss it in his crib when he's not looking, he won't think about it for awhile...but he won't sleep without it...cries if we bring him out of his room without it...and then I trip over it when he finally lets go of it and leaves it laying around the hallway, kitchen, living room....etc. *sigh* I'm sure some day I'll miss it... :)
My husband's silky underwear
Imagine losing issued silkies in the commissary.
My son since 6 months old, amongst all his other stuffed baby toys, chose a cow.
He still has it. He is 5 now. He calls it his best first friend. He will tell me, "Mommy cow needs to be washed." and things like that, or if it needs to be sewn up in a holey area.
But, he also has what he calls his "farm." Which consists of TONS of other stuffed animals, all dear to him. And he knows exactly where they should go in his bed.
My daughter, likes to hijack our old t-shirts etc. and then stuffs them into the corners of her bed. She does not want me to wash it... saying she likes my smell on it. Mommy's smell. And she has a "farm" too... full of dear and special stuffed animals. Even a pajama of my son's, from when he was a baby. But at least she keeps things organized. And she has her entire inventory in her head. Knows if one small thing is missing. Or in the wrong place.
Too cute.
One day, they will be Teens.
I still have my lovey from when I was a kid. Its a collector's item now.
