My son is currently attending the Mary Sears Childrens Academy in New Lenox. Lately I have an uneasy feeling about the faculty there. Has anyone had the same feeling? Or, has anyone had a good or bad recomendation about this facility?

My only experience was I called because they were looking for teacher's helpers (I am just 2 credits away from a degree in child development) and I thought that would be great experience for me (I am also from Joliet/Plainfield and it was close enough). But the person who answered the phone was so rude that I never looked into it further. I have three children and after talking with them...I knew that wouldn't be a place I would be sending them...just by the phone call.

Sorry I coulnd't be more help ~ but that was my experience!

I knew someone who worked at the one in Plainfield before it changed its name. She told me the director was strict and the staff were not allowed to talked to the parents about anything. The whole place just creeped me out when I went for a tour. Hope this helps.

Wow-- my sister-in-law had her two kids (then 4 and an infant) there for quite awhile and raved about it. I didn't know so many people had problems.

Always follow your gut, if you think there might be a problem then there is. My only experience was quite awhile ago, probably about 6 years ago I worked with a few people who had worked there. They did not have good things to say about it.

Hi M.-
We live in Lockport and I put my son in the mary sears in Lemont and I HATED it I had the same feeling about the place and then after one day my son cried and he is not that child at all and would not leave my leg (which again he will go with anyone) so i knew something was wrong...He was in there 3 weeks and when I went to pick him up one day the directors son yelled at my son and some other kids and did a few other things VERY inappropiate to do at all especially with a parent right there..I do not knkow how the Mary Sears in New Lenox is but I would never put my child back into any Mary Sears anything ever again..If you need to know anything else please feel free to ask..
