I was just wondering if there were any others in my area dealing with inner ear diseases such as Meniere's Disease. If so, I would love to talk with you!
Hi K.,
I don't have Meniere's Disease but I use to have inner ear problems quite frequently (and as a child I had tubes in my ears twice). I went to many otologists and ENT doctors to help me with this. Finally, it took a chiropractor to help fix me. Try this, it sounds off but it really works.
good luck

Oh, yes I have this...bad! I was dizzy for the longest time. So bad that I would have to hold on to something to keep from falling over. Many times people caught me. It would get to the point that I couldn't teach. I would be at the front of the classroom trying to teach and would have to go sit down!! Doctor after doctor told me they don't treat dizziness. Finally, I found someone that took care of me. They gave me a prescription for water pills. Oddly enough, the vitamins that I started taking took care of it mostly. I still have a few bouts of it every once in a while, but only when I am very active.

Hi K.;
I've been dealing with Meniere's Disease for about 10 years now, and I know first hand how hard it is to cope with day to day life. I was born with nerve deafness in both ears (85% left and 50% right) so I was a very viable candiate for Meniere's disease. One question for you, did your doctor put you on a low salt,low caffiene diet? if not, you might try that. I havent had any problems for 6 years since I went on it.
I also have found several informative websites so I could learn more about Meniere's when I was first diagnosed with it.

I didn't know unitl my research that they can do surgery to correct Meniere's disease, my episodes aren't that bad anymore although I do occasionally black out and have a siezure once a month. This may sound silly but I wear glasses and when I got my bifocals last year I also got the transsitions lenses, that change according to the light around you. I was amazed after a month of no headaches, tiredness until recently when I started back to work the week before Christmas at McDonald's, I've noticed that I have a had time concentrating on my job and the beepers going off around me aggravate me to the point I get very stressed. I've lived here for 7 years and am still trying to find a doctor in Saint Joseph who treats Meniere's disease.

I am an upper cervical chiropractor in Overland Park. There is quite a bit of research to support that specific upper cervical adjustments help with Meniere's.
