Hi, everyone. So, I'm not a mom, but I haven't gotten answers on my question anywhere else so I thought I could give this site a shot. I am having menstrual like cramps pretty much every day. It has been going on for about 2 months now. I usually get bad cramps before my period as well as during ovulation; however, these cramps now are every day. They are mild, but still noticeable. I feel the pain in my lower abdomen and my lower back occasionally. I am also feeling nauseated more than usual. I have not had any children, not on BC or any type or hormones, etc. Also, I get plenty of exercise and have a decent diet. Have any of y'all experienced this type of cramping? I have tried natural remedies but no luck. Any advice or insight would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
EDIT- i understand that you can not give me a "diagnosis". That isn't what I am looking for. Just any advice or if you all have any similar experiences..... until I can see a doc. Thanks

This isn't normal. You need to see a doctor. If you can't afford one, go to Planned Parenthood. They diagnosed my cervical cancer when other doctors missed it and I couldn't afford to see a regular doctor.
Your best advice would be from a Dr vs an Internet link to strangers.
A Dr can test to determine what's going on in your body.
We have no clue, we are not Dr's and can't give you medical advice.
Go see a Dr and get some answers. If your not insured, most Dr's offer a cash plan. See a Dr!!!
I've never had cramping all month.
There's just so much that could be going on in your lower abdomen.
Could be endometriosis or chronic appendicitis or even some sort of cancer - we have no way of knowing.
See your ob/gyn and if nothing turns up with that doctor, then see a gastroenterologist.
With cramping every day - I'd see a doctor sooner than later.
Who knows?
We are not doctors! We're moms.
ANYTIME there is a change in your overall health, symptoms, pain, cycle, etc.the smart thing to do is make an appointment with your doctor.
I'm 52. I've had friends with horrible cramps and it has been everything from menopause to endometriosis to need for an ablation, or hysterectomy.
Could be nothing.
Could be something.
Make an appointment today!
If you can't afford it? Find a clinic ASAP.
Good luck to you.
Remember that the same part of your body houses multiple organs, and similar symptoms can arise from different sources. I would suspect that this is more likely to be GI related since it doesn't change with your hormone changes.
Even if someone here had something similar that doesn't mean its what you have. Your gyn can do a quick ultrasound right in the office to see what's going on and help you get back to feeling better. Nobody should have to suffer that much for that long without knowing what's wrong.
I've experienced this. I was never pregnant. I had endometriosis and fibroids. Also ovarian cysts. Surgery helped reduce the cramping and pain.
Welcome to Mamapedia - you don't need to be a mom or even a woman to use this site.
You don't say what natural remedies you have tried. Many of them are useless and a waste of money, some may be helpful BUT if you are taking something for "menstrual" issues and you have another type of problem, it's not going to help.
A Planned Parenthood clinic would be a great place for general gyn issues, and they are extremely affordable.
However, you may well have something else going on - digestive, GI, anything. The fact that you don't have fluctuations with your cycle may indicate that it's not hormonal/menstrual at all. You may need an ultrasound but even a basic pelvic exam would help.
Never, ever, wait 2 months with abnormal pain - please get seen right away by a physician. You say "until I can get seen" - what is the delay? If your physician has a long waiting period, go to an urgent care center (not the ER please), or call your insurance company for a referral to another physician with shorter wait times. You can see a family practitioner, an internist, or even a practice with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner who can at least start the process and then have you seen by an MD colleague if necessary. Perhaps an ultrasound would be in order - and most practices can do that for you. Whatever you have going on, it's been untreated and undiagnosed for 2 months, so it may be harder to deal with the longer you wait.
Please heed TF and Mamazita below. It's already been eight weeks and you haven't seen a doctor yet -- what's the hesitation? If the issue is money, please read their posts again. You mention advice "until I can see a doc" but does that mean you've scheduled with a doctor, or that you're putting it off?
Other women's experiences are not going to help much because women have so much going on in the abdominal area that a cramp that's just indigestion for one woman could instead be a sign of something serious for another woman. Waiting to see a doctor might not matter much -- or it might put you in danger. So please get to a doctor immediately. It's better to go, and be told that it's something small, than to wait and be told that you should have come in much sooner.
I've had two friends who put off going to the gynecologist and both did have serious conditions that required surgeries that had to be rushed because things were advancing. While that is very likely not the case with you--it's probably something simple--please protect yourself by being extra cautious and getting to a doctor now, before doctor's offices close down between the holiday weekends.
Again, if cost is an issue, there is Planned Parenthood (they are gynecological clinics) and some doctors offer cash visits for the uninsured, and some have "sliding scale" payment plans to pay over time and at a lower rate. Also, county or city health departments may be able to help as well. If the issue is not cost but just "I can't find time," please, make the time. I hope you can see someone before Christmas.
This happened to a friend of mine...but she also was menstruating non stop for a month! I forget what her doctor said, but she did get it fixed by seeing the doctor. I hope you can see someone asap!
You really need to get into see a gyn for this. It sounds like you have endometriosis. You need an ultrasound at the very least. You may need an endometrial biopsy.
Another thought I have is what a dear friend of mine went through. She was misdiagnosed for a year because they didn't do an MRI. (Her idiot doctor just kept telling her that her back pain meant she needed to exercise more.) She had a growth that had spread around one of her kidneys (why her back hurt) and all around her uterus/fallopian tubes and ovaries. It was like a big web. Her kidney was twice the size it should have been. They finally saw it on the MRI. She had to have a complete hysterectomy done. It was a long process of healing for her, but at least she is okay, and the growth was not malignant.
Hopefully this isn't what you have. But if an ultrasound or biopsy shows nothing, get an MRI.
Please don't wait. You aren't doing yourself any favors waiting for 2 months without getting somewhere to have this checked out.
I would get in to see a doctor but until then keep a log so you can provide them with as much info as you can. It could be as simple as constipation - that can cause ongoing cramping and nausea. So if you kept a log of when it's bad, how heavy your periods are, check your stool (they will want to know when you go in) just so you have more info to give them when you go in. Good luck :)
maybe your pregnant or ovulating. it can also be urinary infection. drink cranberry juice to see if it goes a way. or it could be gallstones.milk can give you cramps if lactose intolerant.
if it happens all month long, it's probably not 'menstrual.'

Call your ob/gyn. It could be something, it could be nothing.
Yes and I wish you would go to the doctor. I have had those experiences. Might be nothing but you could certainly find relief.
