If you were to have a night away BY YOURSELF in Northern California to rest and relax, where you would you go?
I hear Cresent City is beautiful...redwoods on one side, ocean on the other!
Monte Carlo...Carmel...San Fran..Sasolito(spl?)....ahhh, they are all my very favorite of places....Why am I not there right now plunking on my keys...I can smell it, With a warm breeze. It is utter peace...calm.
Ha, now I want to take a road trip!
Well, I live in the REAL Northern California just under the Oregon border and you certainly don't want to come here. It's way too cold. I love San Francisco, but the weather there is iffy too.
Monterey is lovely, so is Sonoma and Napa.
It depends on what your idea of resting and relaxing is.

Calistoga!!!!!!! If you want to get pampered to the max, and relax, have peace and quiet, thats always my first choice :)
Although I love the countryside and I first thought of the spa retreats in Napa or Tahoe, I would spend the night in the center of San Francisco at the Drake Hotel.
I would wear a fabulous outfit, go shopping at union square, have a drink at a chic bar looking fabulous of course, then order a fabulous room service dinner while in my comfy robe, in my fabulous room, watching a chic flick. Then, I would stay up late and eat ice cream. I'm getting excited at just the thought.
Essentially, I would do all things that I could NEVER do with my husband and kids with me.
