I remember my son having a FIT in a bookstore to the point that I foisted him over my shoulder and walked ALL THE WAY OUT FROM THE VERY BACK (insert telescopic vision effect here) with him flailing his arms & legs, knocking stuff over, etc. I didn't care. I was focused on getting his heinie into his car seat asap!

My little one picked up some very bad words from his older brother's school(I heard it and called the kid on it, I thought my lil one wasn't paying attention--wrong!). Little did I know that he had heard them until....right in the middle of church--he dropped something and says super loud " thats F'n crazy." Then the s and d word after that. I was so shocked and so embarrassed, I didn't know what to do. We were in the 2nd row at church in a packed out sanctuary! I was barely calm enough to carry him to the bathroom and have a talk with him about his mouth and tell him if he ever said those words again, he would get soap in his mouth!

Amsterdam airport right before boarding an 8 hour flight to India. There was a flight delay, a plane change, and a security check area with no bathrooms, water, or food for over 4 hours. When it came time to board, we had to walk down two flights of stairs, ride a bus, and then walk back up a flight of stairs to get on the plane. It all started because he wanted to walk down the stairs without holding my hand and there were no handrails and a huge crowd of people behind us. Somehow I managed to carry a toddler, stroller, carryon bag, and backpack down these stairs and onto a bus while he was kicking and screaming. The entire bus ride he was sitting on the seat kicking my legs while I held his arms in a vice grip. And then I had to carry him up the stairs onto the plane. He finally fell asleep, but I was exhausted. I'm sure I got a ton of dirty looks that day.

mine are fairly good, I have yet to be upset. Think the most embarrassing was taking my sister's step daughter, then 4. To look at a water fountain in the Mall of America. While sister went to a store to look for a gift for, said girl's birthday. I was holding her (not that it matters to me, but for dramatic effect, she is South African Indian. So shes nice and dark. I am whiter than white) back from trying to get in the water, and she got mad. She started yelling and screaming. So I kinda picked her up to move her to a bench and she starts screaming "HELP HELP your NOT my mother, let me gooooo" After having to talk to security guards, and hunting down my sister. I vowed to never take T again!!! today T is one of my best babysitters ever! LOL

I am lucky and they don't/didn't have many, but the worst I could think was when my teen had a play at her school and my toddler had a tantrum when the show was already stared, my husband was out of town so I had to bring my toddler without any help, so I just end up watching the play from the window, outside =*(

They've happened pretty much anywhere. My middle daughter has Autism and Sensory Integration Disorder so there's always a risk of it happening... and thanks to Murphy's Law it's usually when it's the least convenient.

When she was a toddler, she would throw fits in the fruit department of the grocery store because her clothes suddenly didn't feel right and then she would start stripping and throw her clothes all over the apples, pears, strawberries... and I would hear giggles across the store. As soon as I started to put her clothes, including her diaper, back on she would start to have a meltdown. I'd have to leave and wait until I had back-up from my husband to watch her at home.

Fun times.

DD was 18 months when she decided to flip out at the library, of all places. We went there for toddler story time and had been there before and she had been fine. Then this one day the lady leading the story time decides to call all the kids into the room by ringing this old-fashioned school bell and that made DD freak out - she started crying and screaming and would not calm down. I couldn't get her to just go in the room and sit with me for story time, she refused. So all I could do was pack her up and leave.

More recently, just after turning 4, she decided to have a melt-down at the mall because she couldn't pick between 2 toys and I was not going to buy both. We ended up leaving immediately without getting any toy.
