Other than the usual places in SA visit the Botanical Gardens. They are beautiful and make for some nice pictures.
My husband and I are planning our anniversary trip to San Antonio in September. I know I want to go to Sea World, and of course, do the river walk, but what are some other "must's" to do while we're there? That will determine how long we stay and how much we need to save up. I'm also kinda thinking about going to a spa for a couple's massage. I haven't been there since I was a kid, and my hubby's never been. Any and all suggetstions will be well appreciated!! TIA!

Check with your husband about the massage. My husband bought me a one hour massage and I came home raving about it. I offered to get one for him and he said that would be fine as long as it was a woman who gave the massage. I know that some of the salons/spas do only same sex massages and when I mentioned this to him he said he would feel very uncomfortable with a man giving the massage and would not enjoy it. After talking to some friends their husbands feel exactly the same way, so talk to your hubby about it first before you book anything and make sure the spa offers massages from women or men. Have a great time. We are going down this summer.
Of course the Riverwalk, and Alamo... If you didn't get yesterday's Dallas Newspaper, get it, it actually had coupons and places to go in San Antonio. I moved from San Antonio a year ago, lived there for 9 years... If you are into theme parks, Six Flags is great, and it has a water park inside.
B., Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary! I went to San Antonio years ago and absolutely loved it! My daughter and I have talked about going back for years, but haven't made it yet. When I went I was with a group from work - we went to two places that I want to go again. The first is a pub called Durty Nellies Irish Pub - it's on the River Walk, but the address is 200 S. Alamo St. They do a lot of singing and get everyone in the place involved. It was just a lot of fun. Also, we went to a restaurant called Rosario's Mexican Cafe at 910 S. Alamo. I had these shrimp nacho's that were just fantastic - and I don't even like seafood mixed with anything else! But, I plan on ordering them again if we ever get back there. At any rate, I wish you the best and hope you have a wonderful time! It should be really nice in September - maybe it won't be as hot as it was when I was there in May. God bless!
I LOVE San Antonio! It's such a fun city with lots of history. There's the Alamo if you or your hubby are history buffs. You can also catch the sites from the Tower of the Americas. El Mercado is like a little bit of Mexico with infinately better food! I don't know when you're going but there is a small town about 20 miles south of San Antonio, Poteet, TX. It's the strawberry capital of Texas and they host the Strawberry Festival the first weekend in April. I haven't been in years, but I have fond memories of the food and the music concerts! Check out the schedule on-line and see if it's something you might want to experience.
Congrats on your Anniversary! Have a great time!
