Is it just that you can see white areas? Or is there a white substance on top of the gums?
My first through was thrush. It's like a white, milky coating on the gums or tongue. It's a fungal infection that's very easily treated.
The gums usually do appear to be almost white on the sides. I always thought that was the bone -could be the teeth, I suppose. Either way, totally normal!
If you're concerned, just call your pediatrician. The nurse should be able to help you figure out what it is.
