I think the first thing you need to do is to contact your local Legal Aid agency or Family and Child Services so you can start the process for obtaining child support.If you have a joint bank account of any type, go withdraw all of the cash! Contact your new employer and see if you can back your start date up a few days while you search for child care. I wouldn't go into details but explain there has been a family emergency. Do you have family nearby who can assist you? Do you belong to a church? If so, contact your minister. I also suggest trying this agency, Family Serivces of Ohio. It will list how to get help in getting child support from him, and how to go about getting cash, food, and medical assistance and childcare vouchers from the government. Contact them ASAP, though, cuz some things can take about a month to get unless they truly see you as being in an emergency situation.

T., I'm so sorry that happened to you and your babies. I don't know if housing is going to become an issue for you, but I have heard that the Department of Job and Family Services may help you with deposit assistance if you need to move. You may also want to contact the Butler County Housing Authority and see what type of help they can give you if you're going to need a place to stay. There are also a lot of religious groups out there the provide a lot of help with paying utility bills and those sorts of things. You might also want to contact the graduate chapters of local sororities because many of them have outreach/service programs to help struggling moms with things like diapers, baby formula, baby clothes, and other essentials.
