Yes! Same situations, but usually it happens in the warmer months (when we're at the beach) and I attributed it to sand fleas. Haven't had them in the past couples months and don't think I've ever passed them along if they are fleas.
For the last few weeks my 1.5 year old daughter and I (who bed share) have been waking up with bug bites. They are individual bites on our legs or back. They are pretty itchy, but then stop itching for a few days and start up again a few days later. We each have about 5 or 6 total over these weeks. We don't think they are bed bugs because we have combed the bed and find none of the signs of bed bugs and the bed bugs bite in a line of 3 or more, ours are single bites. They are not scabies (I checked with a derm). Fleas? We don't have a pet but do sometimes visit dogs, and have heard your house can get fleas even without dogs. But I haven't seen anything. I haven't seen anything at all, that's what's so frustrating. Anybody in Southern California or elsewhere deal with this? Any ideas? Spiders? Also, we are planning a trip and were going to stay with friends, but I don't want to carry anything over to anyone else's house. HELP!

Maybe have someone come and spray the house and see if that helps. I remember in the warmer months if we were like a month behind on having our guy come and spray the house I would notice random bites on me and my son. I'm pretty sure they were spider bites. We live near water so we have extra bugs :-) But I would have someone come and spray...we use a local company instead of like orkin and they do an awsome job. Hope that helps!!!
Good luck!!
Fleas can indeed inhabit a house for a while, and as long as they are feeding on you, won't likely go away. We have cats and treat them so the house gets cleared because they act like walking flee bombs. Since you don't have pets you may need to look into product that can treat the house itself. Flea bombs and carpet sprinkle that you can vacuum up and the like. Other ideas are in this thread here:
are you outside at dusk? there is some tiny in our grass that I have never seen, but, it gets me every night if I don't use bug spray.
Could be fleas and they are almost impossible to see. Put on a pair of long white socks and shuffle across the carpet, fleas will jump onto the socks and you will see little dark spots. About the only way to get rid of them that I know is to bug bomb.
this has happened to us a couple of times. any bird nests on your house? anywhere on the house? we had invasions of bird mites. for real. super super small. super hard to see but you can with a magnifying glass. look on your window sill and in the bed. they invade the home after the birds go away. this is sort of an odd time of year from them but who knows. we were perplexed forever then finally figured it out. check around.....
These are still could be bed bugs. In the daytime they are hiding pretty well. Check your bed in the middle of the night.
I wish these are not ones.
Its not uncommon for me to get a few flee bites at night from my cat who sleeps with me. But this only happens in the warm weather months. This is not the season for flees, so I think you can rule that out. Flees commonly bite in trails as well (I also live in so. cal). Sounds like a spider to me.
