Hello everyone,
I have been makings hairbows and accessories for a few months. Everyone tells me to have a name and web page so here I am. I want to have a name for this venture but I am at a loss for that. Being from the south I came up with Southern Sugar n Spice but think that is a little over used. My name is W. and thought of using Pooh in the name but then I am concerned of copyright problems. Do you think so? Anyone have some suggestions to help me. I plan on expanding and doing machine embroidery tops, baby items and a varity of crafts after the first of the year so would like the name to be something that could be used for in this way.
By the way , I would not use W. the Pooh in the name but was concidering just the word "Poo".

What can I do next?

Take all your sample names and use the small business naming site called:

Panabee

It's a great tool I have used for my small business. It checks domain names, twitter, etc.

For instance, Whimsical W..ca is not taken:

http://www.panabee.com/name-generator?domain=whimsical%20...

And for sure you cannot use W. the Pooh. That could easily lead to product confusion and you would end up renaming your business.

Oh how fun. I actually get paid for this in my day job...

Mini W. Bows 'N More

W.'s Mini Bows 'N More

W.'s Mini's

Teensy-W. Bows 'N More

Itsy-Bitsy-W. Bows

Eenie W. Miny Bow

Teeny Tiny W. Bows

With a name like W. i could go on and on.

If you need a logo designed, I can do that too (but not for free!)

Whenever my mom was going shopping for "artsy-crafty" stuff, she always said she was going shopping for "foo-foo" stuff. So the idea that came to me was "W.'s Foo-Foo." (rhymes with "Pooh.")

If you are looking for a dba (doing business as) then make them unique for each line that you consider. If you are looking for a company name (like incorporating or forming an LLC) then pick something you like, it doesn't have to have anything to do with your dbas. I have a corporate name and then a dba for each website. This allows you to enter and exit markets easily.
Before you decide on anything, go to GoDaddy and see if the domain you are thinking about is available...that will narrow it down. If you want your name in there the bows could be WinniesWhimsy (nice alliteration but not everyone can remember how to spell whimsy) or AHairAbove.Com (see you are a hair better than the rest)
Have fun and let us know what you decide

What about "W.'s Wibbons" as in Ribbons, but kids have a hard time saying R sometimes?

Other than that, there are already GREAT suggestions below.

I would not use Pooh. And definitely not Poo.

Since you are thinking about doing tops, how about going off that theme. And since the beverage sweet tea is such a big thing in the south. Maybe a name such as "Sweet Tees and Things"? It also may help in search engines because 'sweet tea' would be something people may search for. It may even come up under a 'golf' search since a tee is used in golf. Any way a potential customer finds your website the better for you.

UUmmm don't do anything even remotely connected to Winne the Pooh, the name, image ect are all owned by Disney.

How about "W.'s Bow-tique" (rather than boutique) since you make bows???
