Hey all!
We're heading to Nashville next week and I just came across this museum online but it doesn't seem to have a website. Has anyone been to the Imaginarium Childrens Adventure Museum in Nashville and was it appropriate for a 3 year old? Does anyone have any other recommendations for activities around the Nashville area? Thanks for any information.
Thanks so much for all the wonderful ideas. We ended up visiting the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro and also the Nashville Zoo and Cooter's Museum (for a kick- we couldn't resist!). It was a wonderful time- we really enjoyed ourselves. We'll be heading to the area again next year as we've got family there and now I've got an awesome list for future activities to fill our time there. You ladies really came through- thanks again!

The others have already given you some great ideas. Another place to go is Monkey Joe's in Madison (real close to Nashville). It is basically for kids with bouncy houses, rides, and games, but they have an adult area where you can watch TV, have something to eat, and just relax. I like to take my daughter there so she can run around and burn up some energy while I drink coffee and study my college textbooks.
It sounds like they are talking about the Adventure Science Center. I think that is the old name it went by (Imaginarium Childrens Adventure Museum). While it is a great museum for older kids, I'm not sure that a 3-year-old would get much out of it. We took our daughter there and all she wanted to do was walk up and down the ramp surrounding the planetarium.
The zoo here is great, though, and so is Cheekwood, like the others said. You can call ahead to the Adventure Science Center and see what their temporary exhibit is right now. They usually have a different one every few months and your 3-year old may like that.
When we visited, we enjoyed going to the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home. The exhibits won't interest a 3 year old, but there is plenty of room to run around outside on the grounds.
There are several civil war sites in the area if you're interested in that sort of thing - kinda neat when the folks dress up in period costume and talk to you!
There's also all kinds of music stuff - Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame ... not sure about the littlest one, but might be worth checking out!
Presume it's still there - look for Brown's Diner - hole-in-the-wall type of place but the food was really good several years back! Hand patted burgers!
Hi R.,
Take a look at www.adventuresci.com. It's for the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. I'm not sure if its the same one you mentioned in your post. There is also a Discovery Center at MurfreeSpring that would be fun for a three year old. There is always the zoo too!
Good luck! Have a great trip! :-)
There are several things to do in Nashville- The Nashville Zoo, The Adventure Science Center, Cheekwood, The Nashville Arts Theater..and much more. Hope this helps...Have Fun!!!
