I don't know why the news show said bt there wa an episode ages back about tony messing with her. when she pronounces it it does not sound like either folk or fulk like locals say.... LOL! She won't say it.
I know this is not the place for this kind of question, but I can't find it anywhere else. Since you ladies (and some dads) are the best, I thought I would ask.
Last night on the season premiere of NCIS, our local station (WTKR) ran a bulletin at the bottom "Why Ziva won't say Norfolk" on News at 11. I was fighting with my 4 year old to go to bed and couldn't watch the news. I have looked on their website, but only found the interview Leila did with Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo which was really good.
Can anyone fill me in? I am guessing it is the pronounciation since "come heres" and non-locals can't get it right.
Thanks
EDIT: For those of you who don't live around here (Hampton Roads) yes, it does sound like a "bad word"---Nor-fu*@. I will have to go back and watch all of the seasons to see where/when she does say it. I am sure she has, I just don't remember it and since the bulletin across the bottom of the screen was making such a big deal of it, I figured she didn't say it.

For those that asked: CBS.com has a lot of episodes. I don't know how far they go back, but that is where I go to catch up.
I've seen every episode and I never noticed that she doesn't say Norfolk. Is there a Navy Yard in Norfolk. I always assumed and I think I'm right that when they talk about the Navy Yard, they are talking about the one in DC. However, they always make it seem like it's a quick drive to Norfolk, not the hours that it takes.
I don't know if she has ever said it but this really is funny. I am from Richmond and we always have said Norfolk the "bad word" way. I never thought anything of it until a friend from Pennsylvania absolutely choked on the word when she tried to say it. I never even realized it sounded like that. I am Lebanese and one way to say, "How are you" sounds like the same bad word..."Kifu*@." I am going to giggle every time I say it now!
Don't know. but I love that show and totally missed the season premiere. :(
I love it but we gave up our cable :( anyone know where to get all of the seasons. Me and bf could date night that allll... night! haha.
BTW- Ziva says it a little ,well, poorly. It sounds like a bad word.
