Hubby and I have been going to Wheaton for the dentist but it is getting to be a hassle to go so far. I am a BIG-O baby at the dentist so I need someone nice who caters to cowards like me. Last time we just picked someone from the phone book it was a nightmare for both of us. Does anyone have a suggestion in the Lockport area (anything from Joliet to Orland or Tinley is "in the area'. Oh yeah, my hubby said "be sure the dentist doesn't show me pictures of the inside of my mouth---that grosses me out".) Thanks!
My husband and I go to Aesthetic Dentistry in Orland Park. There are two dentists there, Dr. Bennett and Dr. Broomhead. The office is pretty "high tech" with a pleasant lobby and big-screen TVs in the rooms where they do fillings. It is on 159th in the office park near the ice-skating rink. We go to Lockport Dental Group by the Library in Lockport. My 5 yr old son loves it there. He sees Dr. Harald. I am a baby when it comes to the dentist and let me tell you, they are great. I just got a filling and they did not numb me at all and it didn't hurt. All the dentists are great. Dr. Gerhard(my dentist) is the best for people who are afraid of dentists. Mrs. Gotts is my hygienist who is awesome. Its an older building, something you would have gone as a child but everyone is great. Their phone # is ###-###-####.

Unfortunately, I can't give a lot of advice on who to see a we have had bad experiences since moving here 6 years ago. We have literally been to 6 dentists offices in thattime and have only been happy with the pediatric one out in Naperville, Dr. Tom at Just for Kids Pediatric. I confer to not got to Dr. Rubis's practice in Crest Hill/Joliet. Horrible, Extremely long wait and not good health praqctices was our personal experience. Another not to see is Mary Cavitt. I won't get into her either as I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and am consider legal action of which is not something I am into. I too would love input into great dental Offices. I have heard only great things about DR. Quey in Plainfield. I am not for sure I'm spelling his name right. BUt, You can likely go on line with your insurance company and search Plainfield. It is closer than Wheaton. Take Care,

I do not know of a place that could help you out in that area. I am sorry that I could not help you out with that and I really wished that I did. I do not know that area very well, but if I find a place that can help you out, I will for sure let you know as soon as I can. I went to a great dentist, unfortunatly they no longer take my insurance, but it is Oakview Dental Group in Oak Forest the dentist I saw was Dr. Austin.

We go to Dr. Ken Kirsch in Homer Glen. Their slogan is "gentle dental care." He's a great dentist and staff is wonderful. Their office is inside a bank/office building just off of 159th Street and Bell Rd. ###-###-####.

We go to Dr. Guinta in New Lenox and he's great. The wait is always really short, and everyone is very pleasant. I've never been shown a picture of the inside of my mouth, but to be sure, I'd probably just mention that you don't want to see one.
On the flip side, I should mention that I have had extremely bad experience at Dr. David Rubis's office in the Joliet/ Crest Hill area. You can send me a private message if you want details, but for now, I'll just recommend that you avoid that office.
We go to Dr. Tom Ross in downtown Lockport. I can't speak on how he might be with dental anxiety, as it's not an issue for me... but I have found him and his staff to be very kind and accommodating. They have a small town homey feel. I'm a big fan.
Shorewood Family Dental on Jefferson is great. My hubby has been going there for years and now my mom goes. They use all the latest technology including very low radiation xrays and laser deep cleanings. I'm going to be going myself very soon.
