How about a roast chicken from the grocery store with a rice dish and a vegetable? Half my family is GF and lactose intolerant and we often have meals like this - just be sure there is no wheat.
I need to make a meal for a family with a sick daughter. They are gluten and dairy free. I'm not a great cook, so does anyone have something easy I could make?

A simple chicken or beef dish seasoned simply with salt, pepper, garlic and herbs served with rice (cooked without butter) and steamed veggies or a simple salad would work fine.
Avoid bottled marinades and packaged seasoning mixes as they can often have soy sauce (gluten) or other hidden forms of gluten or dairy mixed in. If you give a salad, a bagged salad mix is usually easy, just avoid one with croutons or cheese if you can and don't bother with dressing as they probably have their own that they know is safe.
Paleo recipes are usually gluten- and dairy-free so if you google that you should get something that's safe and easy. Paleo recipes generally say that butter is OK but for someone dairy free, it isn't. Just substitute coconut oil for butter. Otherwise, Paleo recipes can help with making things a bit more interesting with yummy seasonings and sauces.
look in google for paleo recipes, you should get a good amount of hits and some are very easy to make.
Good luck!
There is a wonderful pasta I eat all the time. It's Tinkyada brown rice pasta.
You could make a chicken soup and add that in it!
Or a pot roast in a crock pot w/ carrots...
If you go down the natural/organic section of the grocery store -- there are lots of gluten free foods ...Gluten free chips and salsa or hummus to go w/ the soup.
Unprocessed meat, veggies and fruits are gluten free. Google "gluten and dairy free recipes" to get recipes for dishes in which you want to be creative using those foods or for baking. I haven't baked gluten free but my daughter has a good muffin recipe. Let me know if you want it and I'll get it for you.
You can buy gluten free baked goods from the grocery store but they are lacking in good flavor. My daughter chooses to go without rather than buy ot. She's tried several brands. The gf pasta from the grocery store is good.
We've found that baked goods from a bakery are good.
