try getting tsted for a staph infection. I had the same lumps and an antibiotic cleared it up. good luck!
I found 2 in my genital area, sorry not to be gross. I ignored them due to being so personal. But this morning I found 1 in my armpit. I looked to see if it is a pimple but it doen't look like one, it's sore and feel pretty defined when you feel it. I am scared I have been having other health issues too. My body aches and I have been having pains. It got worse the other night I had bad cold chills to the point of shaking felt like I had the bad flu but no temp just pain.
I have called my dr, had blood work done and I am waiting for results. I am just cared I have 3 little girls and I am trying not to think the worst.
Dr thinks the lumps are ok, we are watching the 1 in my armpit though just to be sure. I did get blood teast reults on paper work and apprently something is wrong. One test came back as high and I am now trying to figure out what it is. I do not have an infection nore am I sick, the dr thinks it's some kind of a disease and I think he is ruling things out and trying to figure out what is wrong. I think I have Fibromalsia, I know I messed the spelling up sorry. Sill waiting on a final result and if anyone is watching this thread I will update.
Thank you all for the advice and support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Joanna. I had found a lump in my armpit as well and it was just a cyst. The doctor removed it in the office and told me that they can form at any time, any where on the body. It probably isn't anything, so please don't think the worst of it.
I wish you well....

No advice, just a hug. hang in there. It may be something simple easily taken care of. Stressing out before you need to will only put more stress on your body. Drink lots of water, and get as much sleep as you can, until you hear back from your dr and can plan a course of treatment.
I think Stephanie said it best. There are lymph nodes ALL over our bodies. Best of luck and a prayer for your health.
Joanna , That sounds incredibly scary, but you are doing all the right things. Getting your bloodwork done and calling the doctor are great first steps. Hang in there. Try to visualize all the positive thoughts that all of the mammasource women are sending you.
I hope everything checks out. May you be blessed with strength and patience and lots and lots and lots of time with those little girls.
Best wishes,
N.
Hopefully the blood work comes back all right.Make sure they check you for Lyme's disease. It is overlooked, a lot. Good luck
You've already done the hard part! I think its always better to be prepared for the worst but hope for the best. Just remember, even if you do have bad news...you are a strong woman and you can do anything you put your mind too (you're a mom!)
I think the best thing you can do right now is to wait for the results from your tests. Try, the key word is try, not to stress yourself out too much. It could be nothing. Just try and focus your energy on your girls and your work. I know this doesn't sound easy but I will keep you in my prayers and I don't know what your religious affilition is but if you are just pray and have some faith. Good luck and I hope it turns out well.
You can't do much without the results, so if you don't get them within 3 days of the test, (unless you were told a different timing) I would call the office to check on your results -- if everything is okay, some offices fail to call the patient. You don't want to be worrying over something that is nothing.
On the other hand, if they gave you an estimated time of when you'd hear from them, wait for that date, and call them if you don't hear from them that morning.
It's scary, and we moms like to prepare ourselves for the worst, but try not to jump to conclusions without the appropriate information. It's just great that we live in an age when we can do blood tests and get info, rather than having to wonder forever . . . .
Hang in !
A hearfelt wish and a prayer for your family. Please let us know what the doctors said.

I said a prayer for you today.
could be a swollen gland!!
Hi Joanne,
Could it be ingrown hairs? About a year or so ago, I found a lump "down there". Needless to say, I was really scared. It turned out to be just an ingrown hair. I hope for you it is something this simple also.
{{{hugs}}}

Unfortunately, it could be a lot of things. It sounds like swollen lymph nodes. When your body is fighting an infection, the lymph nodes swell and become sore/tender to the touch (due to swelling). Lymph nodes are found in chains all over your body, but are more prominent in the neck, armpit and groin area (mainly because the skin is thinner there and they are more easily noticeable). Are you fighting a cold/virus? Maybe this is the start of a cold/virus? I can always tell when I am getting sick because the lymph nodes in my neck become very tender to the touch. You mentioned that you haven't noticed a fever, but based on your other symptoms (chills, body aches), I would suspect a cold/virus.
However, not to worry you, but it could be something much worse (cancer?). But you have already taken the first step, which is going to see your doctor and having blood work and an exam done. I wouldn't start worrying until you have all the facts from your doctor and the blood work results. Try to keep a positive attitude and realize that there is nothing you can do until you have all the answers. Good luck...I will pray for you. =)
I'm glad that you're being proactive and getting things checked out. I agree with the lymph nodes comments. I'm a cysty kind of person, always getting cysts and always around lymph nodes. During my teens, I had a pilonidal cyst (which is near the butt crack), and I think I remember reading about another cyst with a similar name (maybe pilonadal?) that's in the genital area. Going by memory, I think both are easily treated by draining them.
Good luck!
This is going to seem insenstive, but also get screened for any possible STD's. They can cause the symptoms that you describe. I hope that this in not the case, but just remeber that a relationship takes 2 people. And they are not always faithful to each other. Please don't take this the wrong way!
sometimes waiting is the worst. deal with it as it comes. at least you are taking care of your health. the doctor will help you deal with whatever it may be. sorry for the worries. my prayers are with you.
Joanna,
I'm glad you went to the doctor. Sounds like you might have an infection of some kind. See, you have lymph nodes in your groin, neck, armpits, etc. all over your body. When these "lumps" swell it's usually a sign that your body is fighting something. So it could be a cold, flu, or some kind of infection. Be sure they check everything and tell you doc everything that's hurting or not right. Let us know what they find out! I will keep you in my prayers.

do you have pets?
likely it's inflammation in your lymphnodes.
try not to get toooo worked up about it. there a lots of things that cause enlarged lymphnodes that are not cancer. (which i assume you are thinking is the worst)
