Alright, I need some help! I'm 24 weeks pregnant and need new bras. I've grown out of the ones I wore before I was pregnant (they were Victoria secret) and I can't seem to find a replacement that doesn't dig into my belly. I can't really wear wireless unless they are really supportive because I already have saggy boobs. :-( what worked for you?? I'm desperate!!!

What can I do next?

I bought and wore soft nursing bras throughout my pregnancy. Bonus that I already had them when I was ready to nurse. I choose the ones that were a lot like sports bras. :-)

Hi,
I worked at a store called Soma and they are really good at fitting you there. If you are fitted properly and get the correct style bra, you can wear a wireless one and not sag, jiggle or anything else. I wear a H cup and wear wireless and look perky!

Once you know your true size, try on several different styles, not just brands. Every brand has different styles and they all fit differently. Soma bras are in the 34-60 dollar range, but they often have sales. A corset shop will also fit you correctly.

I like Lane Bryant bras patterns, but they don't fit me well. You have to be careful, at some places if you measure at a size they don't carry, they will "fudge" your size to sell you a bra they have. Lord and Taylor has a wide range of bras and carry two brands that go up to a I. Nordstrom's Elomi( sp) is a really good line; good support and large sizes. Soma stops at G and when clients are larger we send them there.

I have Wacoal as well and I like those b/c they provide good support and are pretty.

ETA: How to know if it is a good fit:
1. Band is beneath shoulder blades, doesn't sit up too high or low. When on you should be able to fit two fingers underneath band easily. Should not be very loose or tight.
2. Straps should not dig into you. Adjust straps if needed before changing size. There shouldn't be gaps.
3. Cups should cover entire breast. No spillage on sides or in front. The center part should be flush against breast bone. This one is not a must, for some women it never will, but is a good indicator of a good fit.

Okay, I'm done lol. It's force of habit.

I would suggest looking at nursing bras. They are made to be very supportive and also very comfortable. And bonus, you'll use them for the next year after the baby is born.

Any good maternity store will have them, and many department stores will too, in the maternity department.

I learned more from browsing this article and links than anywhere else...when you understand how the store clerks are trained to fit you as described in an answer below...and as stated...every bra fits different but if you know what to look for, you can purchase just about anywhere by yourself..:)

There's a store called Loretta's over near Collin Creek Mall in Plano. I bought nursing bras there and a couple regular ones before hand. They are more than a Walmart bra, but I don't remember them being absolutely outrageous. They worked with me to find ones that fit properly.

Becuase you continue to get bigger as you get bigger, I would rec getting a good sports bra. That was the best purchase I made.

At this point in my pregnancy, I always moved to nursing bras. They provided support and I didn't have to purchase new ones once I had my children. I did spend money on good ones, the cheap ones are just not as supportive. Good luck!

I went to a good sports bra. Title Nine Sports has great ones (a bit $$), and if you call them and explain what you're looking for, they are very good at matching your needs to their products. I don't know if they still have these, but when I was pregnant they carried a maternity/nursing sports bra that was perfect.

Another vote for Wacoal and Nordstrom! Buy all my bra's there and even bought my nursing bra's there. I was fairly large and having a good bra was even more important to me! You get what you pay for!

Go to Nordstrom's or Neiman-Marcus and get a professional fitting. Nordstroms does a great job and they have a lot of selections.

I prefer Wacoal bras. I am a 34DD, not saggy but I make sure I have a good supportive bra. You can get bras that have some designs on them or plain. I don't like any linings or anything on the cup. I prefer a smooth look.

You can get Wacoal at any major department store but the fitters at Nordstrom are great. I pay anywhere from $50-$75 for my bras and they are worth every penny!

Victoria's Secret is not the place to be fitted because their bottom line is to sell you a bra even if the size you incorrectly. Their bras are more decorative and pretty than functional.

Have you tried a Sports Bra - they have lots of support and there are different styles out there that aren't as tight as others.

Good luck!!

I would agree going for a professional fitting...IF you were not 24 weeks pregnant!

There are SO many boob 'changers and movers' over the next few months...

I would be inclined to go bra less (of course *I* have NO boobs unless pregnant or lactating)... Or consider a sports bra as you make the transition?

best
