Hello everyone!

My almost-2-year-old dd has become QUITE the climber and I am going batty chasing after her while doubling over from Braxton Hicks (whoever said those things don't hurt never had any). Soooo, I need some good outdoor or even inside play equipment for her to get her energy out. Now we got a covered sandbox, which is great, but I need something more "physical" for her to do. Right now the sofa is appeasing her but she has recently set her sites on "rock climbing" up our cement mantel on the fireplace (she is actually quite good).

Anything out there to help a Tasmanian Darlin'? Slides, climbing equipment, etc? I'll go second-hand in a second, as cost is always a consideration.

Thanks!!

p.s Before someone says,"Just go to the park", my dd is still having that issue where she is scared to death of other children (especially the rowdy ones) so we only go very early in the morning when there are hardly any kids around.

What can I do next?

A basic slide kept my kids busy climbing for a long time as toddlers. We even bought them a toddler pool with a slide. If you go that route you might want to think about putting "bathtub" traction decals on the steps or even on the bottom of the pool as they can get slippery. If you can't find anything that fits your budget, space, etc maybe look for alternatives to "climbing". My kids have a small trampoline that they love. It has a handle and plays music and has a counting feature. They also loves games that keep them moving - Honeybee Hop, Hullabaloo, I Can Do That, dance mats. Good luck!

First, congrats on your pregnancy. Yes, Braxton Hicks can hurt! Those who say they don't only had the precious mild ones, lol. My first son's was mild. My second were constant and sent me off work and crying. Doh! Get rest when you can and drink a ton of water.

As for climbers, it depends on the size yard you have. The larger the better, in my opinion. And yes, buy used when you can. Check Craig's List and sale groups on Yahoo. A good one though that can be pulled inside is the Kangaroo Climber. The nice thing besides having the slide on front is the door on the back so it feels like a clubhouse and toddlers love opening and shutting doors, lol. You can "rock climb" up the sides as well.

I, too, was going to suggest a small trampoline with a handle. I can also verify that Honeybee Hop (while being, perhaps, THE most annoying toy we have to date: 6 yrs & counting) keeps kids entertained and HOPPING for a looooooong time. Also Hullaballoo gets pulled out every time my son has a buddy over, and they are 6. Small plastic pool and or/buckets of water/cups/shovels etc keep kids busy for a long time--anything to do with water attracts kids like a magnet! Many a time my mom has set my son up on the deck (shady part) with several buckets/cups/scoopers/boats/cars/whatever and it has mesmerized him for hours.
