My sister had a new baby boy 3 weeks ago in Las Vegas. Then her husband, who is in the Air Force, was shipped out four days later to Afghanistan for 6-12 months. She moved in with my Mom in Sandy and she needs a Dr. for herself and a new pediatrician for the babe. (preferably in the same building) She has Tricare health insurance and was wondering if anyone knows a couple of great doctors. All you ladies have always come through for me, thanks for everything.

Dr. Jeffrey Barton (OB/GYN) is in Murray, near Sandy. He is FANTASTIC!! Cottonwood Pediatrics is near and may now be in the new building as well. Dr. David Hurley is an awesome Ped. They both come highly recommended by many people!! Find them in informationor the white pages in Utah. good Luck!

As someone in the military, I can tell you there are very few docs in SLC who take Tricare. Your sister needs to check the Tricare website to see which practices around here will accept it. There are some in Sandy. That said, I have been seeing Alpine Medical downtown. They have Ob/gyn and pediatrics in the same office and internal medicine a few floors down. My kids have seen Virginia Hiatt, APRN and Dr. Suzanne Holbrook and I've liked them both.

My family and I all see a family practitioner located a the IHC Taylorsville Family Practice on 4700 S. and Bangerter Highway. The clinic takes several different insurances, so check and see if they accept your sister's plan. His name is Dr. Doug Newbold, and he and his staff are all very friendly. We have seen his partner on occasion when Dr. Newbold is out of the office, and like him as well. Dr. Newbold is great with the kids, and my husband and I have been seeing him since before they were born. Good luck to you and your sister, I'm sure it must be hard for her to have her husband gone right now. Thank you to him and all of your family for your sacrifice for our country and liberty! We'll keep him in our prayers.

We go to Reid Harrison at the Granger Clinic on 12400 Bangater. He's a Pediatrician and Internal Medicine Doc - board certified in both. He's great!
