Go to Vegas !!!!!!!! :-) Happy Birthday :-) Hope where ever you go you ENJOY yourself Greatly !!!!
So hubby is in desperate need of a mini-vacation and would like to combine it with my birthday coming up (perfect way to justify a random and spontaneous vacation!) in about 3 weeks. Did I mention this is without the kiddies? ;)
Luckily, he owns his own business and I work "for" him, so the timing is not necessarily an issue...could be mid-week or over weekend. We don't want/need to spend thousands of dollars, but don't want/need to be too thrifty either. Looking to spend 4 days/3 nights away (or somewhere in that ballpark -- I am bf'ing my 5 mnth old, so I can't be away too long without risking my milk supply). Destination could be out of the country, but flights will account for time away (ie - spending 2 days flying round-trip only leaves 2 days at a destination).
Hubby said it was my decision as to where we go, what we do, etc. since it is MY birthday...but I just can't think of anything! We could always fall back on walking around NYC, or going to Atlantic City, but I want to do something "different". I thought about Paris, but I really want to spend more than just 2 days there. Thought about the Caribbean, but I want to spend more than just a couple days there too! Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas??? Thanks in advance mamas! I'll be sure to let you know when we've booked our destination! :)
PS - If anyone has any tips/recommendations for me to help me keep my milk supply up while away...those would be GREATLY appreciated too! I'm very worried about losing my supply...so much so, I would rather forego a vacation away than risk not being able to continue to breastfeed! (I do plan on bringing my Fenugreek supplements and my breast pump and just doing the "pump & dump".)
We opted for Quebec! We had a wonderful time...nice dinner at a fancy 5-star restaurant, romantic horse carriage ride around Old Quebec at night, relaxing couples massage at the spa, and lots of beautiful sight-seeing in the city and countryside.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Go do a bed and breakfast somewhere scenic and fairly close so you dont have to spend a lot of time on the road. OR spend a lot of time on the road, throw caution to the wind and just stay at a place that catches your eye while travelling.
My husband and I do that a lot. No plan, just go where the wind blows us on a friday afternoon and land somewhere and enjoy just being away from the homestead for a night or two with some room service or nature.
We camp a lot, but it's too cold for that now. Maybe find a little cabin getaway and have a fire and such.
The Pocono Mountains are not too far from you and lovely this time of year whether you are doing outside stuff or just staying in.
Atlantic City is also a good place to blow some cash and have a fun time.
Broadway has AMAZING stuff opening for the holidays that you could catch on their opening nights if you are going in about 3 weeks.
How nice that you have the opportunity to get away! A good weekend get-away is Napa, it's beautiful. As far as milk supply goes, I wouldn't stress too much over it since you are only going to be gone a few days. The pumping should help. Have a wonderful time and happy birthday!
Atlantis in the Bahamas. Or if you wanted to stay local you could do Nemacolin Woodlands.
Go to Vegas! The new City Center is ah-ma-zing! Try Aria hotel. Go to a show, do the spa thing and have a couple of nice dinners.
There lots of inexpensive 4 day vacation trips you can make out of the country or in country. You leave early in the morning and return late at night
Hershey PA has a lot of bed and breakfest inns and you can go to the park and museum. The Amish have a lot of B&B's right there in PA. You can go back in time with the Amish.
Outside the US, try cheapcaribbean.com. They have a lot of 4-day trips at resorts that include airfare. So does Travelzoo.com and shermanstravel.com.
I hope you have a wonderful time with the "boss" on your birthday. Happy birthday.
Good luck to you and yours.
