Hi my family and I just moved to the SLC area from California. So right now I am totally in the dark on this. We are living in Cottonwood Heights. I am looking for a good pediatrician for my two little girls. I want a great one. My oldest has some medical problems. So if anyone could give me some advice on a great pediatrician. Don't worry about the heath care thing-we have a PPO. Also, I am looking to get pregnant again and need an OB. If you could recommend a OB also that would be amazing. I am also looking for advice on which hospital is a good hospital in the SLC area to deliver a baby. I had a horrible experience with my first in the hospital. So please if anyone could recommend some amazing doctors to me that would be great. Thank you so much.

What can I do next?

For pediatrician, I love Dr. Jennifer Cox at Alpine Medical. They are on 100 S and about 1000 E, ph# ###-###-####. She has always been very good at listening to me as the parent, interacting with my kids, and working with each issue on an individual basis (not "all kids with x need y")

For OB, I recomment Dr. Yamashiro at OB/GYN associates. He is on 3900 S and 1100 E. Again, he is great at listening to my concerns and has been great for my deliveries. All the doctors there are good, and they have midwife-nurses if you prefer that option. Ph # ###-###-####. St. Mark's hospital is right across the street and they have a great women's pavilion for labor & delivery.

I just love our Pediatrician. His name is Kevin Lash at South Point Pediatrics in West Jordan, which is part of the Wasatch Pediatrics group.

Also, I like my OB/GYN Kathryn Walker at Alta View, although last I heard she was only accepting OB patients. However, she is almost always behind schedule at least 30 minutes or more. I enjoyed delivering at Alta View as well.

Dr. Barr at intrermountain Memorial Clinic on 2000 South 900 East. is a great pediatrician. As far as obs, I like Dr Holmes at the intermountain Salt lake Clinic, to be Honest I have not delivered with her yet, but as I have been going to my apt. she really has been everything I look for in that kind of dr. She delivers at LDS hospital and St. Marks. Honestly which hospital do you what to deliver at? I have only delivered at lds, and was happy with it, but talking to my neighbor, she had a bad experience at lds hospital, so I don't know what to recomend, other then to ask some of you neighbors, and see what you find out. Sorry I am not much help there, Good luck.

I couldn't help with the OB, but I have a great pediatrician. Her name is Mitzi Conover. She is at Mountain View Pediatrics at Alta View Hospital. My kids (18-6) all love her! And I have had great experiences with her partners... Kim Gehl is another favorite.

Good luck!

I will second Rachel Barr at the IHC memorial clinic in sugarhouse - her partner Peter Lindgren is also fantastic! It's a great practice in general.

I almost hate to recommend him b/c I don't want him to be busier (!), but you absolutely can't beat Dr. Howard Sharp for OB services at the U of U hospital. He only accepts new OB patients, and even then only takes 12-14 who are due each month, so you want to get in early in your pregnancy. This means he is able to deliver all of his own babies (unless he's on vacation or something), vs. taking your chances with whoever's on call when you go into labor.
