My life is truly blessed and one of my new years resolutions is to give back to the community. I am looking for non-profit, church groups, child care centers and other awesome groups in the Port Saint Lucie, Stuart or Fort Pierce area. I have some awesome ideas and would like to donate my time and efforts to these groups to produce extra sources of funding for these worth while causes. I want to be very clear that I am not in this to make ANY PROFIT whatsoever! If you have a group you'd like me to know about, please contact me.

What can I do next?

You can contact your local Volunteer Center. Many hospitals need volunteers to deliver flowers, gifts, help with oupatient surgery even. My duaghter went in for surgery and a volunteer was there to comfort her and give her juice and stuff before i was allowed back in. Check your local paper for volunteer opportunities too. Congrats to you for helping others. Hopefully one day i might be able to fit something like that in my life.

I would check with Mustard Seed in Fort Pierce, they do a lot of good in this area and I know they are always looking for good volunteers.

You may want to check with various organizations for the disabled. While Florida ranks 25-26th for median income, it ranks 49th for funding for the disabled.

It takes two or more years for a family to get government funding, and I doubt if it is enough. The organizations are always struggling to find more funding and the workers go years without even a penny pay raise. Also, many of the lower income families do not receive services-perhaps because they do not know how to get them or even that they exist.

You could help a local organization with fundraising and/or reaching out to lower income families and help these families/individuals get the services that they are entitled to, deserve, and need.

Good Luck
