Hi, I'm 16 week pregnant and just moving to the area. Can anyone recommend a good OB/GYN? I'll live in the north-central area of San Antonio.
Thank you!
NE OB/GYN has been around for years. They have many doctors in this paractice, all ages and both male and female and they several locations. Give them a call at ###-###-####
Seven Oaks Womens Center is the best in the city. I would call Dr. Shannon Gallagher first ###-###-#### but Harden, Honore, Cox, Delagarza are all great.
I can highly recommend Women Partners OBGYN. They are located in the building right next to NorthEast Baptist Hospital off of 410 and Starcrest. I've been going there for 10 years now and I would never go anywhere else. All of the staff, doctors, nurses, lab techs are all women so it's very comfortable. They are also pretty timely with their appointments. Dr. Wratten has delivered three of my children. All of the doctors there are great!
I use Dr. Scott Farhart with NE OBGYN. He is in a large group practice and they have 2 offices. One office off Stone Oak and Loop 1604 and the other off Toepperwein and IH 35N. There are a lot of good doctors in the practice and you can have male or female.
Dr. Tammy Murdock at NE OB/GYN (at North Central Baptist) is AWESOME. I drove an hour from New Braunfels just to see her for my second baby.
Dr. Michelle Harden 4499 Medical Drive Suite 140 210-614-BABY. She's really wonderful. Congratulations. Welcome to San Antonio.
I love my OB/GYN! Dr. Theis' office is in North Central Baptist Hospital so it's really convenient when you go into labor. It takes one minute for him to get from his office to Labor and Delivery! The number to his office is ###-###-#### and let them know you want the Stone Oak location. There are a few other doctors in the same office so if you need an unscheduled appointment and Dr. Theis is not available, someone else can usually see you.
I love Women Partners. My OB/GYN is Jane Shows Akerson but I have met the other doctors in the practice and they are all great. They are all women. They are located by NE Baptist Hospital.
Congratulations and welcome to SA! I love my OB - Dr Debra Williams at Women Partners. Dr Vanover is also great. The whole practice is women, which I really like. They are located at NE Baptist at 410 & Starcrest. I'm pregnant with twins now, and she delivered my first baby too. She's pretty laid back and has kept me very calm through a couple of scares, and currently some high blood pressure. I really like Lynn, the sono tech.
I was very happy with Dr. Susan Korp. She delivers at NC Baptist (in Stone Oak) and her office is in an adjacent building.
Congratulations!
NorthEast OB/GYN is great. I love Dr. Tammie Murdock! She is in the Atrium building at North Central Baptist in Stone Oak so she is attached to the hospital which is great! I am pregnant with my 2nd and have been seeing her for 6 years. She delivered my first baby 2 years ago! Very spunky and nice! The number is ###-###-#### and their website is:

Congrads on your baby and welcome to San Antonio. I have been a patiet of Dr. Theis's for almost 20 years. My best friend, her family, my mom and my family all see him as well. Through my children's births, I also had the opportunity to work with the other doctors in the practice (one of my kids had the audacity to arrive while Dr. Theis was on vacation). I am comfortable with all the doctors and would happily see another if the need arose.
Dr. Theis and all of the doctors at NE OB/Gyn have numerous offices, one literally down the escalator and across the lobby from the hospital. The staff is courteous and friendly. To be honest, I would not consider going anywhere else.
The Stone Oak location is very convenient if you live in North Central SA. The only advice would be to keep your appointments away from the 4:30 time period as that's when traffic starts to build.
Best wishes on your baby.
Another vote for Seven Oaks Women's Center. I don't think you could go wrong with ANY of the doctors. I used Dr. Parke Hedges. However, Dr. Honore assisted with my c-section and he is wonderful. Dr. Michelle Hardin (I think I heard she left to go out on her own) is also wonderful. There was not a person in the practice that I met that I didn't love! I do know there are plenty of great ones out there so it just depends on where you live and how close you want to be to your doc!
You are going to LOVE SA!
Dr Brian Cox is wonderful. He is actually part of a practice called the Seven Oaks Woman Center, where their are 6 or 7 other Drs working with him. They are all pretty wonderful from what I hear. I am 23 weeks pregnant with my second and had my first with him, too. Best of luck with your pregnancy!
Hi,
I've been very happy with Four Seasons OB/GYN. Drs. Nancy Rector-Finney and Karen Feinstein are both great, and have seen me through both of my pregnancies. They are located in the Medical Center area and use the Methodist Hospital. Best of luck to you!
Hi K.!
I strongly recomend Dr. Marisa Largoza. She is in the Methodist Plaza Building. She delivered both of my children and is the best! Good Luck.
Congrats on your baby.
I have 7 children, he delivered 5 of my children,
And Paul Trautman delivered all of his children.
He is soooooo sweet and gentle, and answers all of your questions,
My daughter had a baby girl 9 months ago and she went to him, and she loves him and so does her husband, My friends also go to him now too.
His name is Paul Trautman. His number is ###-###-####.
And a good pedi is Christine Littlefield off of Babcock Road, her number is ###-###-####, My Daughter is also using her too, All my sisters are using them also after having their babies.
I'm also a fan of Seven Oaks Women's Center. Their offices are connected to Methodist Hospital in the medical center off Fredricksburg Road. Dr. Parke Hedges is my docter, and he is awesome! Dr. Michelle Harden actually delivered my baby, but I also have heard great things about Dr. Heck there also. I have also seen the Nurse Practitioner, Mary Francis, and she was great. The office is nice, the nurses are super, and the receptionists are very friendly. I also love the ultrasound tech! I think you'd be happy with any of the doctors in the group, because some of them may not be accepting new patients. Also, Methodist Hospital was a pretty decent place to deliver. Good luck!
Seven Oaks Women's Clinic is great, particularly Heidi Heck and her Registered Nurse Practitioner Mary Frances. (Don't know if she's still taking new patients). They are on Louis Pasteur off Fredericksburg. I live in the NE area and it still takes just about 15 minutes to get there.

Congratulations! When I moved here I was pregnant and of course had to switch doctors. I was referred to Dr. Scott Farhart at NE OBGYN and could not be happier. I love him and have also seen a few of the other doctors in the practice and they all seemed great. The Stone Oak office is at North Central Baptist Hospital in the Atrium, 520 Madison Oak, 78258, ###-###-####.
I have to vote for Dr. Ash Dabbous! He has just partnered up with Dr. Harden (who other posters mentioned). He is in the Medical Center...but they are going to be opening an office in Stone Oak in the beginning of 2009.
Because of the recent joining of the two doctors...wait times have gotten a little long...I would suggest trying to get one of the first appointments of the day.
ANYWAYS...Dr. Dabbous delivered my first child...and I am currently PG with my second one that he will also deliver. In my opinion he goes above and beyond what a typical OB would do. When I had appendicitis...the docs at the TX Med Clinic couldn't figure out what was wrong. They kept saying it was my gallbladder and giving me anitbiotics that would help for a day. I finally called Dr. Dabbous to ask him about the pains (based on previous issues with endometriosis). He got me in that day...sent me for labs and scans the same day...and got me booked with a surgeon and checked in the hospital all within a few hours! Good thing too because if my appendix had burst I could have died! Like I said...I think that goes above and beyond what most OBs would do. It wasn't an OB/GYN issue...but he still worked with me to figure it out.
I can't say enough good things about this doctor! :)
Good luck with your PG!
I use the doctors at North East OBGYN. I like dr. Murdock.
Hi K.,
Welcome to San Antonio! Congratulations on your new Baby.......my OB is Dr. Paul Trautmann. His office is in the medical center at the Rainbow building. He is amazing!!!! I would have him as my primary and my pediatrician if I could. I have two kids and am 18 weeks pregnant. I have had great experience with Dr. Trautmann, his office and his family! His number is ###-###-#### and address is 2020 Babcock. I have never had to wait in waiting room or had any problems. I hope you find a good fit and if you need anything else let me know!
I love Dr. David Garza he is so nice and wonderful. I had a miscarrige a time before so when I went to him with a new pregency he made me so assure and calmed my nereves. He gave me a songram in his office same day just to calm me down. He payed such close attention to me that it was amazing. I have never heard of such good care one on one to pateince. He did not push me off. He found all probelms that and found what had lead to my previous miscarrige and help me through my pregenacy. I gave birth to a helathy baby boy thanks to him. There is no doubt in my mind that is was due to him. I highy recommend him. His whole family our OBYN. Dad, brother, and sister!
