I use bare minerals makeup.
It's not great for dry skinned folks (unless they use the stuff/primer to put on your face first) but it's amaaaaaazing for those of us with oily skin.
My skin is designed for the desert. In extreme heat AND dry (I've lived on the panhandle, and other swampy or jungle areas... this ONLY applies to dry heat), my skin is GORGEOUS. Silky, velveting, smooth. Because the oils are naturally hydrating my skin and protecting it. In the humid, damp, cold... I'm a blotchy, oily, broken out mess. Or I was.
The way BareMinerals works is that it bonds with the oils on your face to create a smooth total coverage layer. And it just keeps absorbing it all. day. long. I sometimes need to reapply once, but that's usually if I've been super busy that day. I can sweat through it (doesn't run or streak), even swim in it. And it washes off with soap at the end of the day.
LOVE this makeup.
((I've tried the knock off versions, and the copycat versions by big name makeup areas. Not only do they not last anywhere near as long... a single jar lasts me 4-6 months applied every day of Bare Minerals... but even the bigger jars by other companies are gone in 1-2 months BUT THEY JUST DON'T ABSORB AND BOND WITH THE OIL the same way!!! Which is part of why I think some people prefer them.))
HINT:
1) DO NOT use the primer. Your face is making your own 'primer'.
2) The "mineral veil" is just foundation powder mixed with corn starch. You can make your own for $2. Not worth buying a whole separate jar of it. Just use an old jar (the bottoms screw off), add cornstarch, and tap some of the foundation powder into it and stir. Screw the bottom on, and voila. Just saved $25!)
