I'm wondering if there are any older women out there who happen to be new mothers.

What can I do next?

I am an older mom. I had my daughter at 37. She is 7 1/2. Then I had my twin boys at 40/41. They are now nearly 4.

How do I get through the day. Age 2 and 3 are tough years, especially with twins. Keep in mind: It DOES get better. My boys now play independantly without me for longer periods, which is nice, BUT they fight ALOT, so I'm still needed to be there. The best thing I found to get me through the day is to get out of the house and go somewhere at least once a day ... the park, bounce house, out to eat, anywhere to break up the same 'ol same 'ol. I always saved this one for last, but at the end of the day when they were tired and rambunctous, I would fill the tub and let them play in the water. This was always refreshing for them. Blessings to you mom.

Not sure what age you call older, but I'm 36 years old and I have three girls ages 17, 6 and 5 weeks. Lets just say I'm very tired most of the day. I start back to work in a week and half. Not sure how I'm going to do it either.

I am currently taking classes to hopefully work from
my home. My interests include horses, and rehabilitating wildlife
I dont know many people with little ones, so hopefully
we can get together sometimes

Hi G.,

I am also an older mom (43) with a 2 1/2 year old and I was once a younger mom too. I have children that range from 25, 21, 12 and also 2. I have my 2 year in a Mothers Day Out program 2 days a week. I also have my grandson's sitter (yes I'm a grandma) if needed on other days when MDO hours are not enough but that's rare. As for my day with my 2yr old son. Playgrounds tire him out (and me) we both get back and take a nap. Also at bath time he'll play with toys and I sit on the floor with a magazine. Sometimes kid movies help and also taking them to McDonalds for lunch where other stay at home moms are and he has other children to play with. What part of town are you in. Maybe we can get together and let our little ones play.

Hope my advice helped.

A.

I am a 37 year old mom,who workds full time as a teacher. I do have all my holidays and summers with my young son. I like to take my son tothe library for story time, which is usually once a week. We go to the park, ride the bike as I have a little seat for him. I try to get everything done in the morning before it gets to hot, then when we get back we both nap........I wish you luck. After reading your reponses looks like older moms are needing the friendships of other older moms.

It depends on what you consider "older". I had my son at 36, that is considered older to be having a first child, and I was considered AMA. My son is 16 months old and I am 37 now. We do plan on having one more before I hit 40, hopefully. I do understand why women have babies in their 20's, I had a lot more energy back then! LOL!
