I don't honestly believe you could get a degree as a PA (which isn't a nurse) online because of the clinicals required. You may be able to do some of the "book work" online, but clinicals are clinicals! :)
I have an associates in applied science and was thinking of getting an online degree ias a physician's assistant, has anyone done this-getting a degree online as a PA and successful in finding a job? Pls share your thoughts, thanks

It's a medical field, you will need hands on. I have looked into online medical courses. You can only complete a few online. Since this field is so hands on the online degree is really a joke.
I work with a lot of physician assistants (they are my clients) and went to school with friends who went on to PA school after getting their Bachelors of Science when I did. They are not nurses and everyone I know has a BS then went on to physician assistant school (2-3 years??). I think there are great opportunities for the job in California, I don't think this is something you are going to knock out behind the computer in a couple of years.
I think you could do the academics on line but then you have the clinicals
that must be done. You have the work with real patients and this obviously
cannot be done on line.
Please be careful when taking these type classes. I have heard about people who did this, only to find out the credits do not qualify with the nursing board where you need to be certified. They are stuck in debt, and can't use any of the classes they paid for and worked hard in. Find out what your states requirements are for the position, and exactly what kind of credits you will be getting. They were assured the classes would be good/transferable, and they were not. Esp. since you will have to take hands on classes/practicums. Good luck!
