With our 4th due in February, we are need of rejuvinating our infant care products. I want to purchase a stroller that also has the place in the back for our toddler to sit/stand. I would appreciate any comments from someone who owns one of these - good/bad, brand you love/hate, thoughts on sturdiness of attaching infant seat on one of these? Thanks much!

We have the Joovy Caboose. I like the fact that it's compact and, I feel, light weight (I've tried lifting other duos and they were heavier). There's not a lot of storage space, but you can add stroller straps/cup holders if you want. We have the Graco Snugride carseat and it fits great. Good luck and congratulations!

I am going to add my vote for the Baby Trend one. I have had mine for about 3 or 4 months and I really like it - I have an 11 month old (I REFUSE to say that he is almost 1!) and an *almost* 4 year old.

They both do very well in it. Infact, I took it on the metra today and went downtown and we went all over the place downtown. It was great - my big guy could walk for a while and then sit/stand when he wanted. Easy for the older one to get in and out of and secure enough for both.

I agree . . .don't expect miracles in regards to weight and foldability, but I am really happy with this stroller (as I had the Graco duo glider . . .that thing is a BEAST). I like the size and weight of this and its really easy to "drive" and makes turns easily.

Congrats on your 4th!!

I'm no expert on this topic but I spotted a very nice looking Joovy stroller (maybe a Joovy Caboose?) being used by a family in the airport the other day. I asked the dad about it and he indicated that he was very happy with it. It seemed a little more compact than the Sit N Stands, but I haven't looked at them side by side.

We opted for the Joovy Caboose. We thought it was more compact than the Baby Trend, although, I believe, more expensive. We have an infant son and a pre-schooler daughter. My son is still in his car seat and therefore rides in front. The carseat does not "click" onto a bar, but straps securely into a "cradle". I feel he is in there very tightly and will not fall out. The only drawback to this set-up is that you do have to unstrap the seat to remove him rather than just undoing the carseat buckles. My daughter really enjoys riding in the back. Sometimes she chooses to stand and face the baby and other times she sits and faces me. I feel that it is very well constructed. Even though you are probably not supposed to, I have really packed on the baggage to the handle and have never felt like the weight was going to pull down the stroller like I have with others. However, along with solid construction comes weight. I feel it is quite hefty and pretty much takes up the back of my Jeep. I do absolutely recommend this stroller as I feel it is exactly what our family needed.

I'm having my second so I've been looking at double strollers recently and thought about the sit and stand and then realized that the older child can't sleep in it. If your child never sleeps in a stroller anyway I guess it's fine but my toddler still does. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

We have the Sit 'n Stand Stroller from One Step Ahead. I really, really love it.

The only thing I did add was the Ray Shade for my daughter in back since the back part of the stoller has no sun protection. As long as she's sitting down, it's fine.

Congrats and good luck finding a stroller that works for you!!

K.,
We have recently purchased the Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand for our 2 month old and 3 year old. I have been very happy with it. I think some people expect miracles from some stollers, complaining about the wieght, size, etc. But when you are getting a stroller to tote two children it is not going to fold up as small as an umbrella stroller or weigh 3 lbs. I have found the Sit 'N Stand to be reasonably easy to maneuver, reasonable weight and when folded fits in the back of my mini van. It is well priced too, we got ours at Target for $120. It has a attachemnt bar to make it compatible with many different infant carriers. When the baby is older the bar can be removed and there is a forward facing seat for the younger child. The parent tray/cup holders at the top are a nice convenience too.

I also have the Baby Trend Sit N Stand, and have liked it. The "sit" area for the toddler is nice and sturdy. I don't use it too much, now that my oldest is 5, but occasionally when there is alot of walking to do, I'll bring it out because I know she will get tired and want to sit, and she still fits just fine on it. The ONLY thing I have a hard time with, and this can be expected, is that there isn't as much cargo space below for shopping bags, etc, as there is on a regular travel stroller; and it is not as easy getting bigger stuff in there, because you have to get it between the toddler seat and the back of the baby seat. But other than that, I do like it.

I have a couple friends that have the Joovy Caboose and they both love it. It is reasonably priced too. I am considering it as well.

We have the Joovy sit-and-stand, and we love it. It pushes well, folds easily, and has a great seat for the baby. The seat for the toddler is nice because it can push forward or backward which allows easy access to the basket. Our Graco snug ride fit into it just fine. Congratulations to you.
