California Baby is great and yes you can get it at Target. Also, if you can get to Farmer's Market in Royal Oak (Saturdays 7-1) there is a woman there who sells great organic products - Dirty Girl Farms
Hello Moms
I have decided to do organic soaps for my boys. I didnt realize that soap is even bad for us. what a mess!! please let me know what a good brand is for a reasonable price. I AM NOT INTO AMWAY(or the new amway) products so please do not give me info on any of their brands. Thank you, S.
Thank you everyone for your advice. I decided to go with method natural soaps and sg products. Thanks!!

Hi S.,
My name is C.. I think that it's fantastic to switch to organic washes for your boys. I work with a company called Arbonne (it's from Switzerland and means "good things from the earth"). They have amazing baby products. All the products are plant-based, vegan, no artificial dyes/waxes/perfumes, no SD alcohol, no mineral oil (you get the idea). Arbonne's motto is- "Pure, safe and beneficial". My pediatrician, who is also a homeopath MD has an account with me to be able to have the products available in her office for her patients. If that sounds interesting- you might want to check out my website- www.claansoo.myarbonne.com and go to the "products" section. All Arbonne products have a 45 day money back guarantee, so no risk at all. I would never think of using anything else on my kids (son- 3yrs old and daughter 19 months). Take care. Have a great day! *C.
I am almost all organic with everything we do, but if costs are an issue at minimum start with a natnural product like burts bees - then organic bar soap isnt too costly (whole foods and plum market among others I am sure)
Also use natural dishwashing liquid (2.97 bottle same size as joy)
Natural diswasher (you cant imagine the chemical residue left by cascade and all those others yuck)
Natural clothes soap - Costco works great affordable
Natural Clothes softner - Costco again and also affordable
I don't know if it's organic but I've always stuck with Ivory for most everything related to kids. My kids have always had eczema and Ivory has always worked well.
I'm currently using California Baby. And you can even find it at Target! You can check out their website first at www.californiababy.com. I also use Weleda products on my little girl, but I buy those here in Germany, not sure where you'd find them in MI. Lavera is another brand out of Europe. Haven't tried their baby products but use them for myself. Good for you for making the switch! It is a crazy chemical world out there so reducing it even here and there makes a difference. :o)
I buy a bar soap at Meijer that is made with 100% organic extra virgin olive oil. I think it runs about $4 but lasts a long time!! It is all natural and moisturizing for babys skin. I love it because it is fragrance free and has zero yucky chemicals!
For the hair, I use burts bees. Seems to work pretty well.
Good luck!

Check out Whole Foods.. I think they carry some. I've tried some different brands.. I'm really picky when it comes to soaps.. it's really hard to find one that has a decent smell and works.. I found one online made by a SAHM, but I'm not all that happy either with that one.
I also wanted to add that you have to be careful about fragrance too. I am very sensitive to fragrances and most things have it in them. CA Baby does have fragrance and it bothers my allergies.. the smell is unpleasant too in my opinion.
