We are trying to go completely organic. It is quite a shift. We welcome any info. on places in the Cedar Park, Texas area to buy grass fed meat. We also welcome any info. on shopping...coupon sites etc. We don't want to drink milk, for example, and I have already bought coconut milk, rice milk and almond milk this week and my husband thinks I am spending too much on these drinks. So, I need coupon ideas. Also, I want my kiddos to have only natural drinks....but everytime my son wants juice...it is a bit painful to have to get out the juice and go through the whole process..plus clean up...etc..
Anybody been doing this awhile? Suggestions are welcome.

I raise my family on an all organic/natural diet. Things that I have found to cut cost are:

1: Print off the coupons at Whole Foods (.com) and then the favorite brands you find you like (such as the coconut milk etc..) go to that brands specific website and get on their email list so you can get more coupons to stack on top of Whole Foods.

2: If you have a local farmers market, get to know the farmers that stock your farmers market. They will usually give you a screaming deal on such things as meat (like if you bought a 6 month supply up front but you need a deep freezer to keep it all).

3: For organic produce there are several things you can do. Start your own organic garden, grow you own herbs in a windowsill, and sign up for Bountiful Baskets in your area. Go to Bountifulbaskets.com to look up if a location is near you. You can order organic produce through them and deliveries are every other week. And again, make friends with local farmers at your farmer markets to see if they'll give you a deal if you come pick the produce up from them.

4: You mentioned juice specifically, it can be a bit of a hassle but I got to the point where I either make green smoothies or if I do make juice, I turn them all into popsicles so it lasts longer.

5: "like" FB pages of your favorite brands, markets etc... cause they'll post specials sometimes to FB readers only.

6: Sign up for Groupon, LivingSocial etc.. for daily deals. I've got lucky and found Whole Foods on there before.

7: Get a seperate email account for all the brand products you like so you can contain all your grocery emails to one account vs. getting bogged down on your regular email. I made that mistake in the beginning and found some brands LOVE to send multiple emails daily and it gets annoying.

I hope these tips help, if you want more advice, let me know:)

Stick with it. Our family went all organic a few years ago, and initially our costs did go up, but we have evened out now, it feels. Mostly, I think we have learned moderation. My husband and I both lost weight! We use less meat, MUCH less, just being mindful.

We sign up for a local "Harvest Box" delivery, which is very cost efficient compared to even the organic grocery stores in our area. It's basically a group of local farms that team up and sell their harvest. You can google for one in your area. I have found that most large cities do have this option.

Good luck, stick with it!

BTW, I freeze smoothies in ice cube trays for my daughter, pop 'em out and defrost for her to eat as needed. I imagine juice would be the same.

One more thing, buy organic soil and do a garden. We loved ours this year, and I learned to can. I canned apple sauce, apple butter, peaches, tomatoes, and salsa. I froze a lot of other veggies (for soups and baking). It's been a fun adventure, and it makes me feel good to feed my family such nutritious food.

You could try Yonder Way Farms. I'm not sure how close that is to you though. Also, check with some local farms near you and ask if they farm organically or not. Sometimes they do, but that Organic label can cost tons of $$$, so they can't put that on their label so to speak.
Here is a useful website that lists foods to buy organic & others that aren't really worth it: http://greenopolis.com/myopolis/blogs/aresende/what-you-s...
Hope this helps! It's great you are making the change! :)

how far are you from Austin? I did a location search from the Whole Foods website. It looks like they have affiliated stores in Austin.
Organic meat is expensive. example, in our area, organic ground beef is cheapest at $7.00/lb. you can get organic milk at $6.00/gal. I've never seen coupons for organic foods. There's a sale every now and then. Stay away from UHT organic milk. It's not worth it.
