Dr. Mehendale at Willow bend pediatrics is incredable. Any time I speak about her to other doctors they always have great things to say about her.

Personally, I've had it with pediatricians. I can't seem to find one who is collaborative rather than dictative. So... I gave up trying to find the perfect Pedi and searched for a family dr. instead... and I found one who is FANTASTIC. Dr. John Moon with Village Health Partners off Spring Creek is so wonderful. So open minded, so informative, so supportive and we all get to benefit from him now. I have a newborn, a 2y/o and a 6 y/o (who also has Down syndrome and needs very specific care) and Dr. Moon has the expertise for all of them.... and he's treating my husband for issues too and our WHOLE family is doing wonderfully under Dr. Moon's care.

If you're really more interested in a pediatrician, Dr. Bain in Frisco is really good. I have a LOT of friends who use her and just love her. She's really into diet and nutrition and is open to alternative treatments and things.

S.,

We go to Dr. Peter Sherrod located near the Medical Center of Plano @ Coit and 15th. We have been very impressed with his whole practice and especially the care and concern he has shown for our son. You can always get a same day appointment and you almost always have a choice of nurse practitioner or the doctor.

When our son was only 11 months he had to be hospitalized with a bad stomach virus. As first time parents you can imagine what a scary experience that was for us, but I was very confident in the care he was receiving and Dr. Sherrod went out of his way to reassure us during that time, which I truly appreciated.

I don't know anything about the other doctor you mentioned, but I highly recommend Dr. Sherrod! Hope that helps and good luck finding the right doc for you!

I never feel like a question is stupid, never feel like just a number and I would highly recommend him!

I just got back from Dr. Sherrods office and I see that there are may referrals to him. He is good and no question is a dumb question. He respects moms and gives explainations in great detail. My daughter had her 2 month well check today and he is very gentle. They are quick to see their patients so no long waits, at least for me. I use to take my 3 year old to Pediatric Place and they do more well checks. I felt like I was there every month. It's expensive and we don't have insurance. Anywho, there are not many people who don't know of him in Plano. In my opinion I would give him a shot.

I recently switched my 8 yr. old daughter to Dr. Robert Young & he is ok but I am now switching her to Willow Bend Pediatrics which is a group of Pediatricians that I heard several good reports about how the kids just LOVE all of these Drs. in this group. My reason for switching is I just didn't feel comfortable with Dr. Young's Practice for my own personal reasons. One day his nurse did NOT show up for 2 days & he was having to answer phones & see patients & he is not a "spring chicken" anymore. I am not trying to be discriminatory by any means but there does come a time. One of the recommendations came from a lady friend who is a nurse & was the school nurse where my daughter goes to school & sends both her children to these Drs. We have our first appointment on 10/12/07. These Drs. are also open Saturdays from 8:30am - 12:00pm. I live in what is considered West Plano but I'm closer to the East side & I don't mind driving 5-10 miles to make sure that my daughter has a good doctor. I can't put a "price" on something such as a GOOD doctor.

BEST OF LUCK!!!!
