Would fabric paint work on leather? Might be better than spray paint. I'm sure someone in a fabric store would be able to tell you.
My son wants me to spray paint his football cleats a metallic silver....does anyone have any recommendations on which brand works best. I went to Michaels & off course most of them are for plastics, metal, glass "indoor" projects. I need something that will not crack and maybe a "finish" spray to hold the outdoor wear & tear of the sport.

Try Pearl arts and crafts, they have more for fabric and better quality.
I suggest a Rustoleum spray paint. You can find "indoor/outdoor" that are pretty durable at Home Depot. Look in to using a primer as well.
I think going to the dance store or a shoe repair store to get silver paint for leather shoes would be the best idea (you don't have to tell your son that the paint is made for ballet shoes!).
My daughter is in Ballet and they usually paint their shoes for recital they use regular spray paint. My daughter really beats up her shoes and the ones from last year are still silver. I'm not sure how a stiff shoe like a cleat would take the paint though. If they are shiny the paint might peel off of them unless you scuff them up , but then they wouldn't be shiny anymore.
I have had to paint some different objects and I have found that Lowe's to be very helpful. I go to the one on N.Cobb Pkwy near Marshill just below it if traveling from the north.
Try JoAnn Fabrics. I was just in there the other day after not having luck at Michael's. I was looking for paint to decorate our car windows. They have a wider selection of paints for a variety of surfaces. I know I saw fabric paint.
Good Luck!
