Venting - I slept in, good thing, but woke up with pounding headache. I started to go about my day, all going ok, THEN, my freezer is not working, but only the top half, incuding the ice maker, ohhh how I need my ice!!! And now the washer is making a horrible noise! I really have to have this house put together by Friday because I am hosting a get together and besides these to bumps, I am having a hard time because instead of cleaning up I have been trying to clean out and make everything perfect! Would it be wrong to throw everything in a room and lock the darn door?? Half the people coming havent seen my house and I am afraid they are going to want a "tour" . I am not rich or well off, but my house is 4000sq ft, got a GREAT deal with BIG back yard we wanted for kids. HELP PLEASE need suggestions how to get this all done or maybe just a little support to get me going?? Thanks!

ETA: TO ALL MY MAMAPEDIA FRIENDS< IF YOU ARE HAVING A CRAPPY DAY TOO, I HOPE IT GETS BETTER!!! STAY SASSY!!!

OHHHHHH MAN...... We got a lot in common today!!!! I struggle keeping up with my house and it's less than half the size of your house. I spend all my time doing this and that and this and that...... and by the time I stop and look I want to scream with how my house look's... I wish I could just have one day to where I could keep my kid's entertained in something not messy so I can actually clean and not turn around and have it all messed up again. And when I actually get time I look at the house and I think.... uggghhhh... Can I ever get a break.... Magic fairy can you please... help me out... yeah right help in my house is none existent. So when I do get a minute to clean I'm like Ok I'll just sit down for a minute and put on some music on my computer by the time i know it my kid's are crying and screaming there heads off... well there went my time to clean and i can't be mad at anyone but myself.. That probably wan't the support or encouragement you needed but I would suggest taking it one day at a time... although I want to pull my hair out because when my boyfriend get's home it's what did you do today? Oh gosh... do I hate those words because he mean's it like look at the house what did you do today that it look's like this...?

Go ahead and throw it all in one room. If anyone wants a tour just tell them that room is under construction. Better yet, close all the doors and just point out, "that's the master br, that's a kids room", etc. They'll get the message. :)

We have a spare bedroom that is our storage room unless family in staying. At EVERY party we have I toss everything in the spare room. And even when new guests ask for a tour, I say this is our storage room and I could care less if they see the mess! My friends know how busy I am and how hard it is to be perfect at raising kids, entertaining them etc plus keep the house perfect.

I say toss it in your "storage" room, go to Starbucks and get your ice coffee and sit and relax until the fridge guy comes to repair your freezer!

Well, I have no suggestions for you other than to breathe and take it one area at a time.

I too am having a day if it helps. My landloard is here trying to fix the air conditioning - thank goodness this is not Texas heat but I am one who likes it cold, so does my son. However my so does not understand leave people alone do to their job, he is like the dogs in this manner that everyone is here to see and socialize with HIM. So, keeping him out of the kitchen (where the ac unit is) has been a hassel at least the dogs can just go outside. In addition via email I have someone in my choir who is blaming all of her issues on ME although she has caused her own problems. We had a performance at our Town Square, she choose to not be there for rehersals (did not know her part and threw all the altos off). She also advised me that she would not be there for most of the Town Square performances and then complained that she did not have the proper Polo Shirt (w/ our logo) when she arrived, but the other new girl did (she was in attendance to rehersals). She sends me multiple emails per day that have NOTHING to do with choir and I have requested politely more than once to only email me things regarding choir. Everyone in the group complains about her emails constantly but I am the only one who asks her to refrain from sending them. I have to read all of them b/c I am in charge of booking events and attendance communications, however she hardly emails me about her attendance, she just calls the director. So, she is blaming ME for her leaving and singleing her out by not giving her the proper attire (director's job) for the performance and telling me that I need to chill out on my email preferences. No one contacted her b/c she said she would not be attending them, thus she does not need the Polo shirt (we wear different attire for other performances that she has)! I can not win with this woman and it is terribly frustraiting. Yes, I have CC'd the director and our other person in leadership on our "communications" and I am done responding at this point, she is leaving and I have advised our Librarian to contact her regarding collecting her music.
Anywho, thanks for letting me vent too Sassy - goodness today is a sucky day thus far - and to think yesterday my biggest concern was my hairstyle!
