I am not familiar w/ that typw of birth control, HOWEVER, I did bleed for 3 months after the birth of my first child. So the bleeding could be from the child birth, not pill related..??

I have the same thing and I went through the same thing at first... I was near frightened at how much I was bleeding and at the time it seemed like forever... but I just waited it out and now haveing it for 8 months... it is much better. Every month my periods are getting less hevier and shorter... they are still heavier than before the baby but they are only lasting about 5 - 6 days now. I know it is hard but don't worry... it will most likely slow down here soon... *oh and my cramps arent as bad now either...

I have Mirena. I got it last March. I have not had a period for almost a year now. I remember them saying that I might have prolonged bleeding but I don't remember having any trouble.
I would just call and let your gyno know that you are having trouble. See if there is anything that they can do
Good luck!

I'll be having my mirena removed this spring because it's been 5 years since I had it put in, and the first month or so I did bleed continuously. After the first year I only spotted for a day or so, and at this point I don't even spot anymore. It should be temporary, but if you are concerned you should call your OB. I'm sure after time you will find it will not be so bad. :)

I got the Mirena in August, and had a long period of bleeding. Definitely over a month. I have to say though that it was worth every bit of it! But if you're worried, it never hurts to call your doc. Good luck!

A friend of mine had the same problem with hers. Do you have any signs of post partum? I'm asking because my friend's doctor said that she had minor signs of it and that it could have caused them to be prolonged. He prescribed Zoloft for her and within a few weeks I believe things went back to normal because she's was weaned off the Zoloft about 1 month ago.
If I were you I would contact your OB and let him know that its bothersome and see what he might be able to do. Good luck

Well you could still be bleeding from having your son...It is possible, especially if you are not breastfeeding because you might have went straight into having your period.
