So, tell me - what do you think? Isn't it great that he has called BOTH sides out?

Sorry - Tracy - thought with the left side not the right side...

So What Happened?

Amy - it wasn't finger pointing...he used the statements given by Biden and Obama....it wasn't finger pointing...it was factual content..

The fact is that our government is failing....miserably - doesn't matter which party is in office - they are failing...Bush had a Democratically ruled Congress...now Obama has a Republican ruled Congress....it's a mess....because they are all worried about their re-election instead of doing their jobs....

I think we've finally reached a point where everyone is fed up, and labels are mattering less and less.

I've been a liberal for a long time, but I have to say that I think Boehner's plan was the best that was put forward.

These days, the politicians are more concerns with re-election than with progress. They want to "represent their platforms", and they're doing it without regard to whether or not it's a sound argument they're making.

I, personally, would love to see a BUSINESSMAN run this country.
Not a lawyer. Not a longstanding political person. But a successful businessman, who understands bottom lines and economics.
(Yes, Trump suggesting a run intrigued me.)

We've gotten TOO far up our own a**es with issues like abortion, immigration and the environment. It's become counterproductive.

This is awesome! Bring it, freshman!

In Nov 2010, America sent a very clear message to Washington that we did NOT like nor would we tolerate our leaders failing to represent us. It's time to upend politics as usual. Obama promised that as part of the "change" he was touting. Honesty FAIL.

Now it's our responsibility to hold our new freshman representatives and senators' feet to the fire so they don't get swept away in the Washington game. Hold them accountable by staying informed and staying in touch with them!

This was tremendously refreshing. Perhaps there is "hope" after all...

Great speech. I wish we could clone his opinion and inject it into the brains of our entire congress, senate and especially our president.

I don't like it when congress thinks they can spend my money better than I can. It just goes to show how everyone is so hypotrical in congress. Obama speaks out of both sides of his mouth. It just depends on what his agenda is.

The federal workers that keep these give away programs alive and advertise for people to come in and apply for welfare and other give away programs and probably give welfare to unqualified people so they have a high enough case load to justify their position. (When I say welfare, I include ALL government giveaway programs.) The federal workers are over paid and have super generous retirement, benefit, vacation and holiday programs.

Both sides deserved to be called out.

I only hope we get a businessman in the presidency and more businessmen in congress and the senate. Maybe that will save our economy.

President Johnson said welfare would never be more than $30 million a year. Now we spend that much every minute. The bottom line is they (Johnson and the democrats) were simply trying to bribe the electorate to vote for them. And it worked.

Our congress and the tax and spend people disgust and scare me.

Good luck to you and yours.

Same old finger pointing, but a well spoken young fellow. I like how everyone thinks their own side is the one with "common sense". I have seen some great democrats speaking as well lately, but I'll spare you the links. Including some admitting we need to cut the entitlements and spending as well as BRING IN MORE REVENUE. I have agreed all along that both sides have been sucking, but my own personal beliefs align with the left.

Well, Republicans.....you should be doing a little victory jig for the first phase of this bill. The deal is looking pretty grim for the left so far, and we'll see what kind of crooks they round up for the super committee. Not only is President Obama coughing up his left lung, and losing approval with the left because of it, the Repubs are STILL blaming him for EVERYTHING and clasping to every red penny of their wealthy tax dollars with their cold Scrooge hands, and not only are they shaking his support from the left, but they sure won't vote for him in the election just for cooperating, so you just may get Bachman in the White House after all.

Congrats! She'll be GREAT. She's so..smart...and.... great. Our country will be out of the 100% Obama-caused crapper in no time. Since according to Rubio, all of America's problems were caused in the past 822 days or whatever. And Yup, Trump, equally genius. He doesn't have too many bankruptcies or hair brain ideas in his past....go voters...

I just wonder if some estimates are true and a failure to sacrifice some wealthy tax dollars when more cutting is imminent will force the Repubs to be responsible for bilking the military, in which case maybe they could get some negative sentiment from the masses too instead of running around doing the heroic, "We'll never raise taxes EEEVVEEERR, we dont' need government, we'll just cut cut cut cut , and when no new jobs can be created and there is no new growth because of all the cutting, we'll just blame the Dems" chant. But I don't want to have the military shafted, so I don't even know what to hope for anymore.

But anyway. Congrats Repubs, things are going your way. We're cutting cutting cutting cutting. And if the super committee is in the right pockets, we'll be doing even more cutting (from the people who don't profit the massive corporations) in the next phase. And looks like we may not have an equal time in the White House to counter balance Bush's years, so you guys can get back to doing what you did best for his two terms....balancing the budget.

I thought it was interesting on Meet the Press the other week how the Presidential Historian pointed out that the tea party freshmen are the first generation of politicians ever without longevity in their strategy. They don't care to be re-elected, they have no interest in compromise, they're just pushing an agenda to please their base and they won't budge. Some (who like the agenda) say it's great, some not so much.
